I was afraid in June we would miss any first come first serve spots. I didn’t reserve because it was a rather spur of the moment trip. It was Thursday at noon and we got one of the last two spots. Had to park up high with a walk down to the picnic and fire pit area. Worked fine for us. Spent most of the day touring in town and listening to free music at the park. You could hear the band all the way back at camp also! Due to the valley. It is $28 a night so I don’t know why it’s not updated that caught me off guard.

It's 1 mile off the 5th and almost straight up. My f150 towed my 20 ft Kodiak but it was pushing it. I had to keep the pedal to the metal. Got one of the last spots that would fit my camper. Don't bring a big rig. Max 26ft it says. Steve the host was cool and helped get us set up. Real nice guy.

The pull off could accommodate two vehicles.
#32 is a first come site
The road up to the CG is a little windy and a little steep but paved so no issue if you take your time.
The hosts Dan and Steve were very friendly and helpful.
I was there on a Saturday night and there was no noise.

Views are stunning!! Best location to camp near Ouray as the hiking (right off the campground) is amazing! Close drive into town. Sites are nice. Some closer together than others. It gets busy so make reservations. Host was attentive. Can be noisy.

Even though cell service looked fair (ATT and Verizon) we were rarely able to send or receive texts.
Some restrooms are old fashioned pit toilets, but the one near the camp host is much nicer.
Camp hosts were attentive and friendly.

This campground has great views! But, too many people crammed together on a hillside. Sites seem private because of brush in between sites but don't let it fool you! You can hear every cough, sneeze and snore of your neighbors!
