We didn’t stay, just stopped in for the bathroom. Looks safe. It’s dusty and we’ll used but clean snd we’ll kept.. Right next to road.

We ate burgers from the official Area 51 travel center, diner, liquor store, and much more. Not a bad burger for the price. We may stop by again heading between Las Vegas and Death Valley in the future.

Place with all you need: water, restrooms, picnic area, bbq and market.
It's perfectly between Las Vegas and Death Valley. BUT it's along the road, then its very noisy.

About a quarter of a mile away is a convenience store/truckstop/brothel? Complete with a red light burning at night.

An very bare stop on the way out of/to Las Vegas. There's a few buildings clustered together that make up the town - there's not too much. The main feature is the "Area 51" gas station and store, which is actually across from the rest stop. The rest stop has a nice picnic area with lots of trees and picnic benches. There are bathroom facilities, although I suggest bringing toilet paper and soap/hand sanitizer. Two big connected gravel lots, one right off the road, one accessed by driving through the rest area, provide plenty of parking for the night. There are streetlights scattered around, but it's not difficult to find a darker spot.
It is a huge truck stop literally feet off the small highway, so it is somewhat noisy all night - don't stay here if you are a light sleeper. The Area 51 store is more than a bit sketchy, and I'm pretty sure it has an attached brothel according to its signs. However, the rest stop itself feels rather safe towards the back and most passerby and trucks seem to stop at the Area 51 place instead of the rest stop.
Overall, a good place to stop for a quick night on the way to your destination
