We stayed here for a week in January of 2024 and it was fine. Being off-season, there weren't many other campers there, however, we weren't all alone, so that was nice.
We reserved RV Site 72 over the phone and it was ready for us when we arrived. The site was a bit short, but we were able to fit our 30' travel trailer, but had to park the truck on the road or (with permission) at the neighboring site which was vacant during our whole stay. The on-site water and electric pedestal was shared with the adjacent site which made it just barely within reach for our power cord and water hose. No issues with 30A service or water pressure and quality. At the time of our stay, grey water was allowed to be dumped onto the ground at your site and the dump station was located at the entrance of the park. NOTE: Since it was quite cold, the dump station's water source was closed for the winter, but when I told the park manager that we'd need to empty our tanks, he got it reconnected for us. The dump station was spacious and easy to access on the way out of the park, but to get back into the park from there, we had to exit, circle the neighborhood, then come back in. Not a big deal, but a little inconvenient without a proper turnaround.
The office was locked when we arrived, the gate was closed and no one answered the phone when I called to get more information. Luckilly, the gate code was left on their outgoing voicemail message, so we were able to access the park.
Overall, park grounds were in good condition, however, the restroom facilities looked like they needed some additional care and some of the trash barrels around the park weren't emptied and attracted critters after dark.
The nature center was interesting and the boardwalks were in good condition and gave us a nice, scenic walk through the woods down to the river. It's worth checking out even if you're not staying at the park.
The park is easily accessible from I10 in a quiet neighborhood. There are grocery stores and other shopping nearby and you're just a short drive from downtown Lafayette which is cute and has some excellent dining options. Everything else was available within a 15-30 minute drive.

We arrived around 4:00 on Saturday. The office was unattended and locked, so we drove around and looked at the 75 sites. About 20 were occupied, most not long enough to accommodate our 28’ Airstream and truck without unhitching. Since this was just a one night stopover we wanted to stay hitched. We did find a site (#45) that fit the bill. A few others would have worked as well. The 50 amp and water hookups worked. There is a dump station on the way out of the park. There are numerous tall trees and lots of grass around the sites (all paved). There is a sign at each site that can be set to “reserved” and several of them were set this way. I’m not sure how you reserve a site. With no attendant we put our check for $28 in the provided envelop and dropped it through the slot on the locked office door. This stop met our needs for our trip from Austin to Tallahassee perfectly. We

Just a few blocks from the highway... Beautiful trees and shaded areas. We arrived on Saturday and called the phone number as the website is not functioning. We did get a return call about an hour later and a Park attendant came by to collect the funds. Nice and reasonable for water and electric.

There was no one in the office, so the following morning we got the code for the shower room. Words escape me. I’m sure the bathroom and shower were clean once. I was afraid to put the soap down for fear it would get dirty. There were two showers. The one I didn’t use had large clumps of black hair on the floor. The best part of the experience was the motion sensor lamp that remained on for eight seconds(I counted) and then went off.
There were decomposed leaves, mud and other things I really didn’t want to figure out. Oh, the water was cold. Tepid water would be an improvement.
Nice park, but come clean.

I stayed at Acadiana while in Lafayette for Festival International. This campground had a weird vibe to it that made me feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. There was a homeless man who had set up his tent near my campsite, although he moved farther into the greenspace when an RV pulled into site 22. He kept to himself, but I still felt I needed to be on my guard. Otherwise, most of the campers were families or tent campers who looked to also be in town for Festival.
The office was unmanned when I arrived at 4:30pm on a Thursday, and another camper waiting there said he'd been waiting since 4pm for staff to arrive (their posted office hours were until 5pm that day). Thankfully I'd written down the gate code a few weeks before when I called to make a reservation. However, by Friday afternoon, the gates were wide open until I left Sunday morning. Again, as a solo female traveler, I didn't love that the gate stayed open - I also left a message at the campground office Friday evening about the gate being open but didn't hear back.
If park staff aren't there when you arrive, there's a board next to the park office with site numbers, names, and arrival dates. There are no directional signs in the campground, so I looked up a campground map quickly when I arrived to be sure I knew which direction to go for my campsite. The site itself (#23) was a little tricky to get into, even with my 21' trailer. My truck ended up a bit in the woods in the front as I was getting the angle right to back in, and needed some leveling blocks to get me level side-to-side on the asphalt pad.
There's a single bathhouse at the campground entrance, which was a little bit of a hike from site 23. The campground gate code is also used for the toilet and shower doors in the bathhouse. In the ladies' shower, there is one ADA-compliant shower with a seat, and the other shower has a timed button for water. Neither shower stall has a lock, just a plastic shower curtain with half its rings missing. This facility definitely is in need of updating.
There are several trails that leave from the campground and a Nature Station on the far loop near site 23. And a disc golf course easily accessible from the campground. The park has a recycling bin located next to the office, and trash cans at each site. The campground is about 10 minutes from downtown Lafayette, which I biked to one afternoon (wouldn't recommend biking unless you're prepared to ride on the sidewalks). The local area feels safe enough that I went on a run from the campground one day.
This is cash or check only. If there's no one at the office when you arrive, there are envelopes next to the door that you can slip your payment into and put it through the door slot. But park staff drives around to collect payment each day if you'd rather do it that way.

Got here after dark and found lots of open spaces. Chose one and hooked up. There were only a few larger rigs when we woke up in the morning but no one close to us. Quite foggy morning. Surrounded by lots of trees and nature trail. After morning coffee we walked one of the shorter trails and saw lots of lichen and mushrooms, quite pretty. We ended up at the restrooms and showers and peeked in. Both rooms were sweltering with heaters on full blast. The women's toilet smelled horrible and the showers were quite dirty and wet slimy so we opted not to shower here. Once we figured out the dump station we prepared to leave. As I was waiting I saw a group of about 8 men starting their game of disc golf in the tree area right behind our rig. Good thing we were leaving since their aim was not always right on. Plus they were very loud. We left and cleaned out and refilled at the exit. No attendant at the entrance but we left our fee in an envelope. I might stay here again in a pinch just because of the woody area which is inviting at night.

Yes it’s camping, yes bugs live in the woods, but no thank you to all of the deep puddles that invite said bug families to hang out with you.
Site: there are two pull through spots, site 31 was one of them. We reserved this site but after pulling in and driving around a bit we decided to leave. It rained before arrival, and the amount of pooling water at each site wasn’t appealing to spend the week with.
It also looks like many come to hike the area, some kids come by just to walk around the park and hang out. That said, it seemed fairly safe.
Area: set in a residential area, with some stores nearby. Plenty of stores, and restaurants within a 15 min drive.
Management: he was friendly and picks up calls, or will return your call fairly quickly.
The park is filled with beautiful trees, and pretty empty but the facilities need a massive upgrade.
We wound up staying at the KOA another 10 mins away instead.
