When I need to get away and don’t have the time to travel far away this is a good standby. The road in is rough and there are a few cattle guards and bridges that need to be taken very slowly. When I need to get away and don’t have the time to travel far away this is a good standby. The road in is rough and there are a few cattle guards and bridges that need to be taken very slowly. In area 5 & 6 the pads are laid out very strangely and can lead to some tight camping. The grounds are well maintained and the lake is very pretty. It’s a good place to decompress but not a destination park. Friday evenings they have catfish dinner at the Lobo and it’s very good.

I wish I had more time here. I stopped on my way to New Mexico just for the night. It was gorgeous and the lake looked like a ton of fun. The sites were VERY roomy and level and bathrooms were clean. Next time I’m in the panhandle and need to stop I know where I’m going.

This was our first time at a park with our rig. I thought I had made reservations but unfortunately I had made them at Wolf Creek Park in Coldspring, TX instead of here. This was our first time at a park with our rig.
I thought I had made reservations but unfortunately I had made them at Wolf Creek Park in Coldspring, TX instead of here. Luckily they had plenty of room for us. Apparently they are easily able to house larger trucks as we are 38 foot long. We pulled into our site which had water and electric and the site was not very level and it was not paved. Unfortunately we were not as prepared since I had been looking at a different campground so we just stayed unlevel the whole weekend, which wasn't too terrible but that is why I gave it 3 stars.
The lake was right in front of us and there was lots of people fishing. There was also a cross country track event in the area which was fun to watch. The bathrooms were not very pretty but we are self contained so I didn't have to use them. The weather was nice while we were there and we enjoyed our stay.
Spotty cell service, mostly we didn't have any.
