Willow Beach Campground

Easy short drive from I40 and located on the river. We arrived as a last-minute reservation for an overnight stay and were given the suggestion to stay in site 15 on the Lakeview side of the park. Lovely view, but nearly impossible to level! Most of the lakeside spots are steep enough (upward as you back in) that multiple blocks are needed, or for auto-leveling RVs their front wheels were off the ground. Having seen the park now, I'd book a spot on the other side where the view is just as pretty and the sites were much more level.

The bath house at the north end is to be avoided. It was pretty clear some non-campers (perhaps transients in the nearby woods) were using it. Though we had no problems and never saw anyone, it was clear the folks camping there were not likely to be making that kind of mess.

The volunteer was typical of COE, very kind, very welcoming and a pleasure to work with.

This park is beautiful. If you're in the Little Rock area, I'm not sure it can be beat for a quiet, serene place to stay.

We chose to stop one night as we traveled from Texas to Nashville, TN. As others have said, it's a short drive from I-440, but it is worth the drive to get away from the highway noise. The camp hosts were very friendly and the sites were clean and spacious. There were plenty of outdoor opportunities available for couples like us or families.

Without a doubt the nicest COE campground we’ve stayed at. Electric and water at site. Dump site on the way in. It’s a gorgeous campground situated in a large park outside of Little Rock, Arkansas. Almost like it’s on an island because there is water on both sides of the campground. All the sites are waterfront. There are only 21 sites I think. Each was very large We were in 19 and it was pretty level. The sites are far apart, which would be great for a longer stay. We were basically in and out. No wifi but Verizon signal was fine.

We definitely enjoyed our stay at the campground. My kiddos priority is always the playground and we definitely used it frequently! Our site was f12, and it was situated about half way from the park and the bathrooms. Given a little more planning I would have preferred to be next to one or the other (lower number campsites are towards the playground, higher numbers towards the bathrooms). There are picnic tables, a charcoal grill and a fire pit at each site. Some of the sites had a cover over the picnic table, f12 does not (they appeared to be every other campsite perhaps?) a sewer hookup would have made it perfect but the dump station was easy to use. The bathrooms were a toilet/changing table/sink/shower all in one room, and it was functional but not especially clean and the shower didn’t drain well. There were lots of trees for shade, and the campground was very peaceful. At the end of the row of camp sites next to the bathrooms there was a turn around, very helpful to be able to approach our site from the other side for ease of backing in. The playground has a ADA swing as well as the squishy foam flooring, a huge plus for toddlers and kiddos with special needs. The picnic tables close to the playground and those under the nearby pavilion also had handicap accessible tables.
The closest store is a dollar general or gas station about 10 minutes from camp. The campground is about 25 minutes from downtown Little Rock.
Overall enjoyed the experience!

Backed in on cement pad... lake right out side our big back window. Fire pit behind the trailer by the lake ..,covered picnic table..., bench by the lake...
grass and trees ...full moon and pink sunrise.3 bars on ATT, wide road...water and electric only. Large easy to use dump station. Clean and well maintained .was only here 1 night plan to stop here again only longer as I want to visit the Toltec mounds and the state capital.
