Nice Commercial Park Near Corpus Christi... rate is Passport America valid for 3 nights. Stay was unplanned and we called the park on the road. They were very nice and helpful and fit us in. They are mostly a long term park with many seasonal campers from the north. Park was very clean and orderly. Lots of activities. I would consider this as a good option for winter seasonal camping.

Town of Mathis is not much, but only 30 minutes from Corpus Cristi for shopping. Mathis does have a HEB grocery store and basic services. Internet needs to be purchased for $3.29/mo. at 3Mgb. Works great for email etc.

The park is pretty. The sites are nice, large, and pull thru. The roads are dirt with some rock. There is a large rec. hall, a shower building, a saltwater pool, and three fishing lakes [large ponds]. TV reception is spotty. Cell reception is good enough if you are outside your RV. Very peaceful.
Mathis [about 5 miles towards I37] isn't a large city but has a nice grocery, 3 good BBQs, and more.
We will be returning.

We had planned on staying for a month and ended up staying two months. Very nice resort community feeling, has lots to do every day, very close to Corpus Christi and local beaches. Quiet, clean, three private lakes so you don’t need a fishing license. We paid 14 a night but there is also an electric charge which ends up to be $.13 a kilowatt and you get charged for that at the end of the month. If you pay cash which you need to mention Up front I believe you will get a 5% discount on the monthly rate.

We stayed here the month of February 2018 in site 124. This is a park that has many full-time residents, mostly senior. There are also sites for daily/weekly/monthly RV’s. We enjoyed the hiking trails around the campground. There are plenty of birds around the 3 small lakes. The staff is very friendly and there are many activities to participate in. There are 2 laundry areas, the one in the clubhouse is open 24 hours.
Our pull-through site had full hookups, no cable or Wi-Fi unless you wanted to connect directly to their ISP on a monthly basis. It was an average size site. We were able to get some OTA channels. Site had a fairly level gravel pad with a cement patio and picnic table. Some of the area birds wandered through, which was pleasant. We were surrounded by full-timers that had steel covers over their trailers and multiple sheds, which blocked any view we might have had of the lakes. Residents were somewhat friendly. We heard a lot of traffic noise from the surrounding roads. There is not a lot in Mathis except for a small H-E-B grocery store so we went to Corpus Christie for most of our shopping. Our rate was $400 plus electric for the month.
