We stayed here for two weeks, wanting to be close to Orlando for Disney/Universal & this state park was fantastic!
We stayed in site 31 which was a little difficult to back into due to tree directly across from the driveway, but nothing impossible with a little patience and guidance from a spotter. Our site had water & electric, but other sites had full hookups I believe for the same price so that is something to check when booking if that’s important to you. Dump station was easily accessible with dump cart so we didn’t mind not having sewer. The campsites are pretty well spaced in a beautiful forest with pines, palms, and palmettos so our Starlink didn’t have much for line of sight so we used our T-Mobile home internet, which was mostly fine for working during the day, but streaming did sometimes buffer in the evening. We talked to someone with Verizon & AT&T and it sounds like all of the major carriers are sometimes hit and miss in the park.
The shower house had great water pressure and the water got warm but not hot. They were clean and well maintained. There is recycling near the garbages which is always a plus for us.
The park itself was absolutely amazing. There are miles of hiking/biking trails, the springs to snorkel and swim in, canoe/kayak/SUP rentals down on the river, and even backcountry camping. We ran and/or hiked the trails most days we were there & saw tons of deer, a few tortoises, and several black bears. We rented a canoe & saw an alligator as well as tons of big birds, turtles, and fish in the clear river. Snorkeling the spring, we saw turtles, tilapia, and some smaller fish. There is also a concession stand at the spring with snacks and drinks & a store around back with stickers, food, and camping supplies.
There are multiple Publix grocery stores within 4 miles as well as a Walmart about 6 miles away. Laundromat about 15 minutes away. Amazon Dropbox lockers less than a mile from the entrance of the park at the Circle K gas station. Disney & Universal were both convenient drives. About 45 minutes away entirely on highway and interstate.
Overall, this has been one of our favorite parks we have stayed at and would absolutely stay here again.

There is a road not far away but it’s in a suburban area and I didn’t find it to be a problem. We were usually out hiking and swimming during the day and the nights just had a low hum of far off traffic. You could still hear nature all around.
The trails are absolutely gorgeous. Natural palms growing among tall pines. We saw so many deer I lost count and we could hear the males in the distance. Also spotted a young alligator walking on a trail near the spring. The gopher tortoises are out in full force in the mid afternoon. Didn’t spot a bear though.
We didn’t want to leave at the end of our trip. And would’ve stayed longer if our schedules allowed. Would highly recommend.

The camp was clean and facilities excellent. The hookups were better than what I have seen at RV resorts. You were removed from neighbors and nestled between the trees. I will definitely camp here again.

The spring area for swimming is nice
Here is what will keep us from ever coming back.
Even though the park is very large, the campground is located close to the park border. Traffic noise is pretty much constant throughout the day. We have listened to extremely loud drag racing on the city street outside the park at 4 am for 2 nights in a row which lasted about 45 minutes.
Overall is a nice park in a heavily populated area but for our tastes there are much better options in the Florida State Parks

You decided to give this camp ground a try since it wasn't too far from home and pulling in It was a beautiful drive to the camp site. Upon setting up I realized there was little to no privacy and there was a little trail next to our site where everyone would cut through to use the bathroom which was always crowded. We paddled down the Springs to the island one day and after having visited many Florida Springs I was disappointed to see that this Spring is dying with little to no plant growth and lots of algae. You can definitely feel the vibe that it is close to Orlando. Lots of people blaring music and drinking. The Rangers were not very helpful or attentive and when I asked them if they had a library or the Florida state park passport they looked at me like I was crazy. I'm giving it 3 stars because the hiking trails were really nice for my dogs. I'm assuming all the run off from local Orlando is ruining these Springs and we will not be returning. The lack of privacy was not relaxing.

Easy access to groceries, fuel, and other services. No laundry facilities on site. Firewood can be purchased at the ranger station or nearby stores (Publix, Ace Hardware).
