Beautiful, out of the way campground. Very quiet and relaxing, which is a huge plus for us. Not noisy or a million golf carts flying around. Lots of older people, that obviously come here a lot or even stay here permanently. You can tell there is definitely a “family” vibe. Super friendly and helpful. More than willing to pitch in if you need it, or if you don’t, lol. Staff is super nice and helpful as well. Have some things to do, this weekend was karaoke on Friday and a band on Saturday. Other activities dispersed as well. Nice pool. Most spaces are roomy, mostly level and well spaced. I’ve seen some though, that make we wonder how someone would be able to get in OR out of there, lol. We once again lucked out with a great semi private, shaded spot. Would definitely and will definitely, come back.

When I called the lady answering the phone sounded pained to answer the call. When I arrived the sign says stop here. I parked a lil closer because I do not walk well. I'm 66. She selected a site for me but I wanted to select my own site as I am the payer. She suggested I could drive around all day if I wanted and I replied I'd rather do that. She stated I needed to come back in the office to tell her what site I picked and I replied I'd call after driving around all day and that I would call her to inform her of my site. I noticed a large wooden skunk on the registration desk saying no refunds of any kind. And it was right where you could not miss it on the desk. Seems they have been asked for refunds enough to warrant going to the trouble of posting a sign. As a southerner I guess I have a different standard of kindness.
Needless to say I would never stay here again or recommend this place.

Enjoyed the band saturday night but curfew at 11pm ensured no late night revelers out of control. Park had a nice view of the Shenandoahs. Laundry facilities were sufficient. Very much old school campground feel but we enjoy that. If you are looking for all the frills this wouldnt be for you but if you like nice place to get away and meet some other nice folks doing the same then this is the place. Would definitely come back again.

Old-school super tight campground near-ish Charlottesville, complete with loudspeaker announcements. We had to measure our site to confirm we could even physically fit in it. Pretty run down permanent section in the back. We wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed here for a week in October in site 67. We liked the location because it was close to the Shenandoah National Park. When we drove through we had a very difficult time finding our site. The forks in their roads were not mapped and they had no printed maps of the campground to help find it either. The staff person we dealt with when we arrived was not very pleasant but others were.
The sites are narrow and small. We had a very tough time leveling our motor home. The campground is nicely wooded but they don’t clean up the leaves at all. There are many seasonal campers there and some of the RV’s looked pretty sad. Our site was FHU with water and electric on the left rear and sewer on the right rear of our backed in MH. We had a picnic table and a fire ring. There were also 3 large electrical boxes on our site.
If you want to visit this area there are beautiful sites to see. Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns, George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, and our favorite the Crabtree Falls. The Blue Ridge Parkway is nearby also. There is plenty of shopping around within 15 minutes. I won’t say this campground was horrible but the 2 of us didn’t like the feel of it and will not go back. It might be better for families with kids.

We stayed here a couple nights over Memorial Day Weekend. The campground is wooded and clean, and the staff is friendly. Sites and campground roads are very tight though, and when the campground is full, you're basically on top of your neighbors. This is the only campground we've ever stayed at where we had to measure the width of our site before pulling in to make sure we'd really fit between the trees and the sewer hookup. We did get in, with about 3" on either side to spare.
There are a lot of seasonal campers here, though they're mostly up the hill in another section, and it's fairly clean, feels safe, and everyone seemed friendly when we walked around.
If you like a campground experience with neighbors, loudspeaker announcements, and activities - then it's a nice place well situated to visit Shenandoah. If you prefer more solitude, I'd skip it.

Did not want to leave! Made a lot of friends! What a nice place, just to the west of Shenandoah National Park is north of downtown Waynesboro, and closer to Crimora, VA. We stayed here a month, and got a good deal on the rate. The sites are pretty level, and mostly shaded, lots of trees, and birds. We saw 19 species of birds in just this place, had the honor to feed migrating Hummingbirds. Most of the sites are pull through, and the Wi-Fi is pretty strong, they offer 50's parties with Elvis and all, they have cookouts, games, and local bands. We had a great time, the staff was always pleasant, and helpful. The showers are very clean and well maintained, the pool is very nice! Activities room, laundry, playground, basketball court, and play field. We will definitely stay here again! There is only two things we did not like, and that was the train which runs about 3 blocks from the place, but it can be heard day and night, and the fact they charge electricity on a separate bill.

Again, we felt we paid a bit too much for this campsite but it at least has a lot of amenities. We did use the laundry mat. The pool looked inviting. We did enjoy walking around the campground, but we picked it for the easy location in and out on our journey. This campground had a lot of trees and we tried to get one where our satellite would work, but it was still too treed. They don't offer any discounts....but location location location.
Our arrival was very easy, easy drive in and to our site. We had a pleasant greeting and she worked with us to get the best possible site.
Our only tip is when the laundry mat is to open at 7:30 am, please have it opened. I wasted nearly 15 minutes waiting for someone to open it.
We had our pic of so many things to do and see....
Negatives to report is that they don't offer any discounts!
