Sites 1-25 have some tree shade but 101-110 are in full sun all day. The back in sites on the creek 28-35 get morning shade and afternoon sun with some shade. I would recommend 36-38 as they get full afternoon shade and are relatively easy back ins, but no sewer. 39-45 get some shade but are a tight back in.
For full shade but tough access the full and partial hookup sites 46-91 are up a steep hill in heavy trees, but are a long walk from the amenities. I would not take a rig over 35’ up there but did see 1-2 rigs over that size. For big rigs take 101-110 and be aware of sun.
The pool is nice but small. Good general store with some essentials and lots of souvenirs.
Great, quick access to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and Shenandoah NP south entrance. It’s an hour drive to the Shenandoah visitor center though.

We needed a place to camp near Shenandoah and the Blue Ridge parkway. Saw that the KYD crew started here so we checked it out. It was a bit pricey for a water electric sure but it was right on a wadeable creek. The new bathhouse is at the top of a hill but it's first class with 6 individual bathroom with showers.

The campground is super clean and there is a lot to do in the summer, I am sure. We are here in January so it is more quiet, but we like that.
If you are looking for more quiet, camp in the upper section. We are in a 32 foot camper with a tow behind Jeep and had no problems getting up here.
We will definitely return!

Camped in a 32' Class A.
- Drive to the campground. Very easy. Right off 64. The main road is easy to navigate.
- Interior roads. Paved for the most part. The lower sites near the front of the campground are a lot easier to get to than up top. (Hairpin turn that I would not be brave enough try.) If you have a larger rig, recommend staying down below.
- Site. VIP 2 was easy to pull into and pull out. The sewer hook ups could be placed in better positions. (Site 3's sewer was about a foot away from our picnic table area. Had to move the table to the front of the site.) If you are in an upper site, be aware that the path that led to the lower area has washed out and you have to walk to road to get to the main area.
- During our stay. There were many great activities for the kids. They enjoyed the jumping pillow and playground. There is fishing on site too, and a gem mine if you're into that sort of thing. Most weekends during the season, they had many planned activities. They often have bands or something going on. The pool is small, but the kids always enjoy it. There is a good size dog park located near the main area.
- Camp store. The camp store is well stocked and has everything you need. Everyone that works there is super friendly.
- Seeing the sites. Blue Mountain Brewery is right up the street, as well as a few wineries in the area. They have a shuttle bus available, but the price is for the whole bus, not per seat. So unless you have a large group for brewery / winery tours, the price point isn't worth it in my opinion.
Overall, one of our go to campgrounds for going to the mountains. It is quiet and relaxing. And the price is reasonable no matter the time of year.

Very well laid out RV park near Charlottesville, VA. Sites are level and reasonably sized for even the largest rigs. Choice of open or wooded sections of the park. Very clean and functional bath house.

We were here during a snow storm and had a great time. Staff has all been exceptional— shout out especially to the office manager, Amanda! Beautiful park, close to everything in Central Virginia, and well-maintained. We have a 30-foot travel trailer, and sites were level, gravel, with plenty of pull-through options. Love this park.
