This side spur off FR 285 is a hidden gem of boondocking.
RT 24/FR 285 is a well graded, gravel based road that winds through the country side. It has ample opportunities for camping along its length. This road can be taken by any vehicle due to its strong base and maintenance. There is a warning at the entry of the road, but this in regards to winter conditions. This road is gated and will be closed during poor conditions.
This spur is after the first hill. Its easy to miss as it is a narrow gravel track that will just fit a truck and trailer. It winds through the woods for about 1000 feet until it becomes two campsites.
The first site is a small back in site and very level. It is fully shaded and has a small fire ring.
The road terminates in the back campsite, making a large loop with a center fire ring. The area receives enough sun for a solar rig and has an unobstructed Starlink connection if on a pole on the rig. The area is fairly level and very private.
The spur had no cellular connection.
