Approaching FR 8706 from Alpine creates and impossible turn with a trailer. To turn around one can drive to Big Lake and utilize the campgrounds to return the opposite direction.

The road has an asphalt skirt and then is a narrow road with a dirt base. There is a culvert near the entrance that is the most narrow portion of the road. Most rigs should be able to navigate this, but as always, scout first. The main road itself is in good repair bit 4X4 may be needed if wet. The side spurs are rutted and require high clearance.

The most notable site is on the left within 1/4 mile of the entrance. It is a large group capable site with multiple fire rings and ample turn around. The site is in dappled shade and relatively level.

Past this site one will come upon an open field to the left, and then another large group site after this field. This site is more open and sunny.

Following the road around the bend on the right is another site, this one may be suitable for a solar rig as it sits on the edge of an open field.

There are more sites along the road, but the road does degrade some as one drives further.

The area had no cellular coverage.
