Met the owner, and he made me feel at home. We will stay here again.

The spots are varied in size and amenities, ranging from tent-only to full hook-ups. Cable TV and WiFi are provided at most spots. Can't rate the cable TV service because it's 2020 and who watches "TV" any more. But the WiFi was barely adequate for full-timers. It would drop in and out frequently, causing my VPN to drop require a re-connect.
There's a couple of truck stops 4 miles down the road for gas, diesel, and propane. (There's propane on-site at the campground, but my rig was too big to jockey into the spot for a fill.) There is a town 5 miles down the road the other way, for shopping, fast-food, hardware, etc.
The amenities here are first-rate, and the landscape is maintained to a very high level. All day, every day, someone is tending to the lawns, trees, etc.
I highly recommend this campground and look forward to my next visit.

The jewel of Walnut Hills is its small lake loaded with wildlife and lots of ducks. We arrived in March and stayed through the entire month of April enjoying everyday -- even the cold and rainy ones -- on our scenic spot right on the lake’s edge taking in the change of the season.
They have a big well kept and green dog park; a clean and immaculately kept bathhouse, and a nice park for the kids.
The owners and the staff are very welcoming and interesting. Really enjoyed our many chats.
Right off 81, put this campground on your number 1 choice as a stopover or just to chill out for a few days or a week or a month...
During Virginia's COVID-19 lockdown, the Campground is offering excellent pricing options.

Upon arriving at campground I pulled to the side to allow other campers to get by me. As there isn't really a pull off place. I was maybe 6" on the grass. While I was checking in the owner came up and asked if that was my camper. I said yes, he said no parking on grass! I just had arrived and didn't know it was an issue. My wife saw a man, who at the time, she didn't know was the owner and said he walked out of office then looked at my camper and went running back inside. I then told her what transpired, she said she wondered why he ran back in. The owner showed no friendliness as you would expect from an owner. The sites are small for big rigs unless on top of hill or at entrance away from everything. The option to park your tow vehicle was in the visitor parking. Very inconvenient. I will not stay here again. If it wasn't for loosing money I would have left immediately. The fire ring was so close to the camper it was u usable. The bath houses are kept very clean. The owner needs some social skills or get out of the business he is in. The rest of the staff are very nice. He could learn from them.

The park is in a pretty area out in the country. Check-in was quick and friendly. Interior roads and sites are gravel and your vehicles will get dirty. Plus, it’s very dusty from most people driving way too fast. This park has the strangest traffic pattern to move around the campground. We were assigned a site up near the front entrance but to get to it you have to weave around the park first. Same thing when you leave. It is a long distance on narrow roads to get to the sites up on the hill. The dump station is awkwardly placed. A large RV (like ours) would need to jockey around to get in position and then back up to avoid going down a one-way street. Probably explains why they have a honey wagon. Luckily, we didn’t need to use the bathrooms but if you did and are parked in the front section, it is a long walk. Our site was a long but narrow pull thru. The sites are very close together. In fact, too close together for the fire pits. Our neighbor’s pit was right under our bedroom window. Directv was only able to pick up a handful of channels due to trees. However, the cable offered the best picture quality we’ve ever had in 7 years of travel although there are not a lot of channels . The WII FI worked pretty well until the park filled up then it was useless. Verizon was 4g 3 bars so we were able to use our hot spots. Being in the front section, we were close to the road but it quieted down at night. You can hear traffic from I-81 off in the distance. It is definitely a place for the weekend warriors! Not sure if we would return or not. Very pricey for just having water and electric and then having to pay for the honey wagon.
