We arrived at dusk and joined the dozen or so other RVs on the perimeter to the north of the Wal Mart parking lot. There were multiple clusters on each side and we have a long setup so decided we could be more level pulling behind another 5th wheel. It was a cold night so many were running generators overnight (class As). But otherw... more
We arrived at dusk and joined the dozen or so other RVs on the perimeter to the north of the Wal Mart parking lot. There were multiple clusters on each side and we have a long setup so decided we could be more level pulling behind another 5th wheel. It was a cold night so many were running generators overnight (class As). But otherwise noise was negligible. Did some shopping in the Wal Mart and take out from the Panda restaurant nearby. Would stay again. Perfect for a stopover.

We arrived at dusk and joined the dozen or so other RVs on the perimeter to the north of the Wal Mart parking lot. There were multiple clusters on each side and we have a long setup so decided we could be more level pulling behind another 5th wheel. With so many Walmarts taking away this option, I was surprised that they not only still allow overnight parking but they have also set aside a designated overnight parking area for RV's and trucks. With so many Walmarts taking away this option, I was surprised that they not only still allow overnight parking but they have also set aside a designated overnight parking area for RV's and trucks. It's the lot about halfway between Walmart and Sam's. There is a sign directing you to the spots and they have been freshly painted so you know which ones to use. They aren't perfectly level but close. When I asked how many nights they allow, the employee said as long as you leave and come back it's fine. I stayed 2 nights with no issues. I was there mid week so only a handful of RV's and a couple of trucks came through while I was there. The only issue at all was a sign holder on the corner. He never approached the RV's and didn't bother anyone but he did have a couple of barky dogs. He always left when it got dark. I had 5 bars on T Mobile. Some road noise but I have a high tolerance for that and it didn't bother me. Would definitely stay again.

Felt safe to stop here. When I arrived I was the only RV but after a few hours more RVs showed up. We all parked on the side of the parking lot along the grass. One RV was even parked at Sam’s. It wasn’t too hot at night so we opened the windows and turned on the fan to get a breeze going. And picked up some items to restock the fridge... more
Felt safe to stop here. When I arrived I was the only RV but after a few hours more RVs showed up. We all parked on the side of the parking lot along the grass. One RV was even parked at Sam’s. It wasn’t too hot at night so we opened the windows and turned on the fan to get a breeze going. And picked up some items to restock the fridge and pantry in the store. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall Rating
One of the better Walmarts I’ve stopped at. Lots of RVs and rigs overnighted here, and surprisingly, parking lot was about 1/4 full of shopper’s cars, so lots of room. Knocked down a star because, well, it’s Walmart and as it typical, always a bit of road and vehicle noise. But flat parking spots are easy to score.

They still allow over night parking. A couple RV’s and cars scattered through the parking lot. Not a bad place for the night. I would give it five stars but the mens rooms in the front and back of store were pretty nasty.

Several of the top rated RV spots were full. After calling around we decided a night of boondocking was in order. We parked at the edge of the Sam’s parking lot. Green grass out our door. Several of the top rated RV spots were full. After calling around we decided a night of boondocking was in order.
We parked at the edge of the Sam’s parking lot. Green grass out our door. The weather was cool so we ran the generator for supper and a movie only.
One truck driver felt the need to honk several times upon arrival at 2am so there are jerks everywhere.
We are Plus members so at 8am we shopped at Sam’s. After some tourist stops in our car we shopped at Walmart for DEF, and other items.
Loaded up the car and hit the road mid afternoon.
Highly recommend Roswell and this parking area.

With some Walmarts not allowing overnight camping during COVID, this one clearly is, so we wanted to share that info. There were 5-6 others here and one in Sam’s Club lot as well.
