Not only felt completely safe - but extremely quiet at night even on a Friday eve. Had some parking issues when we arrived and store employees and managers couldn’t have been more helpful. No one said anything about us staying more than one night - excellent excellent stopover!

Confirmed with customer service that overnights are still allowed “as long as you park far from the store.” Relatively quiet, large lot although not necessarily level as it is on a slight slope. We made it work with our 31ft travel trailer. Diesel available at a competitive price at the adjacent Murphy’s but it is on a hill and steep entry points make it tough for larger rigs to get in and out. This Walmart seems clean and well-managed and we had no security concerns in this area.

It’s almost 9 am now and still happening.
Otherwise I agree with everyone else about where to park, although there were quite a few cars in the area near Murphy’s. Only one other RV, an older one and looked unoccupied.

If you camp here just be clean and quiet and don’t ruin it for everyone cuz this is a gem as far as Walmart camping goes.

Passing through Las Cruces from Tucson to Amarillo. Had SUV and 26' camper trailer. Stayed overnight at the Rinconada Walmart SuperCenter. Great experience. Very safe (as in, they only build "Cold Stone Creamery" stores in upscale neighborhoods). Called the Walmart store and they said overnight OK - just park in back of lot near the Murphy gas station. Used generator. Ate Mexican at a great nearby restaurant (Los Compas). This is a very safe and "upscale" neighborhood so don't worry about safety. Only chuckle was to learn that several people car pool from this area so I woke up at 6am to hear people gathering next to my camper while they got in another car to car pool. I also considered Baylor Pass West Trailhead (too isolated and not as flat as other reviewer stated) and the RoadRunner scenic overpass on west side of town (only available going east on I-10 but a bit scary to me given amount of semi traffic). I was headed to White Sands so this was an added plus.

Nice level parking lot with lots of food options around. We parked in the back towards the gas station and no one bothered us. There were two other small rvs when we arrived and it was very quiet the entire night. This location is open 24 hours as well which is nice and convenient.

We parked by the garden center and even picked up their wifi! There's plenty of places to shop and eat with in walking distance.
I can't remember cell and data details but out ATT and Verizon both worked.
Thank you Las Cruces Walmart for letting us ride out the storm. Watch out YouTube videos to see more.
