"Festival Camping-decent grounds"

Attending Hermitfest, scattered camping, no designated sites. Larger rigs can get into the sites nearer the road. Best suited for small campers or tents. The area also is on a FS route of a jeep trail, expect off-roaders passing thru. No water,... Read more

"Good for a stop over"

I needed a quick spot not too far off the main road for a place to grab some sleep before moving on. Pulled in way late after dark and found a suitable spot. I imagine this place is frequented by locals due to ease of access. Good spot for a stop... Read more

"Most Unique!"

Recently renovated, no hookups. Most sites are somewhat private. A few are tent only (be sure not to put anything with wheels on a tent site, you will be firmly told by the camp host to relocate. -even if the campground is already full...) This... Read more

"Clean, Quiet, Professional!"

"In the heart of Yosemite Valley "

A smaller CG in Yosemite Valley. Reservations are a must and fill up six months in advance. IMO sites 37, 38, 39, 41 are THE best here. They offer a little more space and back right up to the river. Bear boxes and fire rings at each site.... Read more

"Boondocking in the sage"

Waking to the wonderful aroma of safe and butterscotch is amazing! (The Jeffrey pines that inhabit the area... scratch n sniff! They smell like butterscotch!) If you're really lucky, a heard of the wild horses that roam this area will be... Read more

"RV friendly, dump station, food, fuel. "

The Mobil/Whoa Nellie Deli is a must stop on your way through Lee Vining or to Yosemite. (This is also the last place to get gas for 40+ miles in Yosemite!) This is a seasonal location, be sure to check their website. The food is great!... Read more

"In the heart of Yosemite Valley"

Smaller of the three main Valley CGs. No services. Sites along the Merced River offer some white noise to block out the noise of other campers. Fire rings and bear boxes at each site. Be sure to use the bear box, Rangers patrol regularly and... Read more

"Small cozy camp"

Very few sites. First come/first served. Can fill up long before a holiday weekend. Some sites are tent only. Some sites offer little privacy. Current host is pleasant but is not much help in knowledge of area.

"Quiet getaway "

Current hosts (July 2017) are fantastic and efficient. Vault restrooms are very clean! During our stay, all other campers were quite quiet and personable. Everyone respected the curfew and fire restrictions. There is a small Day use area with... Read more
