Outside the campground on the way to steamboat is a large dirt parking lot with a boat ramp. Self pay. I was the only overnight camper there in June, several fisherman during the day. Bathrooms and a 7 mile trail around the lake from the parking...

Plenty of room for camping, meadows and forested spots with rock out croppings. The road is a little rough and some of the more secluded spots are very rugged. About 30 or 40 minutes into sinks canyon, not crowded even during July. No mosquitos!

Lots of unique rock formations, well known amongst the climbing community. Stayed in November while passing through. Right off I80 so there is some very faint highway noise but the wind usually drowns it out. Plenty off free spots, some need...

Nice area that is clean and accessible for all types of camping setups. Not very noisy but is close to the main road. Self pay.

Great secluded spot with very nice scenery, not too far away either. This place was well maintained and empty in mid October. Some road noise in the spots off to the left, the right side has views of the lake and is quieter.
The trailer park you drive through to get to this nice lakeside spot was deterring enough for me to want to camp else where. It’s far to close to a run down area, fritch has some shady characters walking the streets. The lake also had a sign about...

I tried to camp here but after an hour or so I saw too many suspicious cars driving around, possibly even a drug deal. The surrounding area is not very welcoming, it’s a rough town and I would not chance camping at the local hangout.
