There are other dispersed sites but don’t know where— it’s been too long. It can definitely snow but probably won’t. Think we had cold/ snow flurries last time but it was dry enuf not to be a problem. Super bumpy camp service road. AND they were threatening to close it off due to people littering so you might want to see if there are recent reviews. I was there in ‘22. I wouldn’t be excited about heading up late in the day but we’re old! 😁 Try to go as early as you can but people definitely go up a bit later.

Would be less crowded than summer most likely. Could also possibly be used by hunters that time of year, depending on hunt season. Could likely see snow by late September - varies year to year in all of WY. There are many different dispersed sites nearby, but if it is snowed in up there it is likely all the other areas will either be snowed in and/or muddy. No way to predict what you would encounter that time of the year. We live outside city limits of Cody and have had years with snow as early as August and other years were we don't see any until Jan/Feb or later. It has been known to snow even in the summer months in the mountains out here.

I think we were there in September there were some open sites and no snow. There area some sites at the base of the hill if I remember correctly if not there are more in the area.

It's usually busy.. Snow is possible. Moran Vista is a good close alternative. It is 3 miles away on Spread Creek Road.

I can’t answer September condition questions. There’s so many spots up there you can find something. It is very popular and busy in peak season. That’s when we visited.

Expect it to be packed and unlikely to find a spot.
