Had to go in the busy restaurant to ask what spot we were in people live here in run down trailers. The lady seating people came out with a map & told us spot 3. The guy in spot 3 came out & said this is site 3 & I’ve been here for a year. The dishwasher came out to help us get a random spot that when he called whoever that runs the place & they said the spot would be $5 extra. Website only takes on-line reservations that says “no refunds. No exceptions”.
We had a couple come in behind us that experienced the same thing we did. They were stunned & their mouths dropped over it all!! Let us warn you! CROOKS!!

I think your overall experience at this campground depends on your expectations and the quality depends on what part of the campground you get put in. If you are just passing through and desire a quick pull through site or large back in site for a couple nights, you'll probably get put up front by the parking lot which is closer to the road. These are nice long sites that can accomodate even the biggest rigs. There is a nice open grassy area behind most of these sites which is really nice so you only have neighbors on the side, but all the sites up front do face the gravel parking lot. If you have a back deck, you'll have a nice big grassy area behind your RV. Most times during the week, the parking lot is pretty dead and quiet although the nights the restaurant is open and weekends, I'm sure it gets busier. If you are staying longer, you may end up with one of the spots further back on the loop. Most of the sites on the loop seemed to be seasonal campers or at least ones that were staying at least a week, maybe a month or more, and there were some nice spots back there. These sites are much further from the road and parking area, so definitely much quieter. Some of the sites in the loop are smaller although I saw others we could have fit our large rig in. The nice thing about the sites up front is they have a huge amount of room for the largest rigs and 70-80ft is no problem and had no trouble fitting our HDT truck.
For our stay here, we were waiting on a motorcycle that was being worked on locally during the week of the eclipse. We were suppossed to have been gone from this area by the eclipse so had not made any reservations. As you would expect, most campgrounds had long been booked during that weekend, but amazingly we found a spot here the day before the eclipse even with it being in a totality area. For us that was an awesome find and happy to stay here for the 5 days we did. We were able to sit right outside our rig and observe the eclipse which was awesome. I work in my RV during the week so for me it's just a place to park and get some work done. I also enjoyed the roads in this area to ride our motorcycles. We found the catfish at the restaurant awesome and had great service. The restaurant is only open Thur-Sun.
There aren't any ammenties here at this campground as mentioned in other reviews so that does make the daily and even weekly rate on the high side, but it's full hookups and very convenient to get into and out of. The lakes are very nice and scenic and gave a nice spot to walk in the evenings. It's very convenient to the interstate and towns in the area. If you need a quick place to stay, this can probably suffice pretty easily. I forget what the cell coverage was but as close as it is to the interstate, I think both AT&T & Verizon were fine.
Two Wheel Ramblin would stay here again
