Question about Turkey Springs Road Dispersed Camping

roadtrippers-allen8106 asked on 8/27/2024

Can I get a 45 foot toy hauler and truck into then back out of one of these dispersed came spots?

I left my TT at a paid campsite and went and found where I could safely park and get in and out. There are lots of trees and stumps but I had enough room to maneuver and back in my rig to a real nice spot.

Others are right that you should find a space near the entrance. We weren't finding quite the right spot when we went there and went too far. Pretty difficult to turn around and it took a long time to get sorted out. We did enjoy our time there though.

Drop your rig at Walmart and go pick out a spot first. There's a lot past the left turn too. Cell service varies.

It's been about a year since I was there but let me describe to you what I saw. When you pass the parking lot make your next left. Along this road there are several places where any size rig can fit. When I was able to make my next left which was about a mile or so down the road I found some nice camping spots but be warned don't go too far down that road. There was a lot of traffic coming out of that area but I drove my dually down that road and let me tell you, a big rig don't need anything down there.
