Stopped for a night. There is a gate at the campground, closed/locked. We arrived around 1pm, called the number on the sign and was let in. She said, grab a site then go to the office/visitor center/museum. Easy enough. Senior discount made it $25. We grabbed a pull through since we needed only one night, pretty level. Campground was quiet, maybe 1/3 full if that. Didn’t use the bathhouse or dump station. Tip: call ahead to save a spot and get the gate code. :)

This was an “on the way stop”. The information on here is not correct- the bathhouse is almost brand new and is much like some of the newer bathrooms in state parks. We had 50 amp service and water. There is an offer listed on the bathhouse for a black tank dump available on Thursdays for $20. There is also a drive up dump station. It ... more

There is an offer listed on the bathhouse for a black tank dump available on Thursdays for $20. There is also a drive up dump station. It is so quiet- and so spacious. If I were writing a book, needing a quiet getaway- this would be ideal. We were just here one night- site 23- but had several choices. $25 sr. Rate, $32 regular.

The bathrooms are clean! Laundry room! Welcome Center houses a great Heritage museum. Boat ramp to the river is easily accessible with lots of parking.
Two yurts in the campground which are $65 a night and kept in good shape. Super huge playground, exercise trails. Y’all this is a hidden gem you really want to have a few days in the travel plan to enjoy!
Will be back! This may be the whole destination!

If the weather had cooperated we would have stayed 2-3 nights. Large sites, quiet, gated. Bathhouse was clean. Laundry was shut down. Nice visitor center where you will register. Small book exchange.

This was our 2nd time stopping in to Towns Bluff County Park. This park is a bit off the beaten path and has a dirt road entrance, but once you are in, it is a peaceful and quiet park. We arrived and paid the camp host for our site (cash or check only), picked out our site, and had a nice evening in this small park! Would definitely recommend for a short stay! Sites are water and 30/50 amp electric with a dump station as you exit the park.

Unfortunately the bathrooms were pretty gross. Poop stains everywhere, goobers on sink area, every toilet was filled with poop, TP all over the floor. Then a cleaning lady showed up. She picked up the TP from the floor, flushed all the toilets & put some blue stuff in each bowl. It ended there. She didn’t wipe anything down, goober remained in the sink & she didn’t leave any new TP so I had to bring some from my RV.
We really want to return someday as this really is a beautiful camp but hopefully they will hire a better maid service cuz that girl was horrible at her job.

We were on our way to northern GA for the weekend and found Towns Bluff on Campendium so gave it a try. It was perfect for a one night stop over, we both wished we had one more night just to enjoy to the quiet of the park.
The sites are huge and spread far apart. It was very empty when we were there, I hope more people visit during the warmer months, because it would be sad if it went unused. I think maybe 5 or 6 of the 25 spots were taken. We had a great walk along the river and a fire in the evening. Checkout is at 1 PM so we were able to have a leisurely morning before getting back on the road. Bathhouse was pristine.
The sign says to go to the visitor's center to check in. We drove up, but it was closed. Calling the number on the door put us in contact with the camphost who was super nice and met us at the park gate and allowed us our pick of sites.
It is cash or check only so be aware of that. Definitely no ATMs around. There is some wifi at the visitor's center, but we were able to get enough T-Mobile signal to run a hotspot off my phone and get some work done from the site.

However, the river, trails (including a nice boardwalk over the swamp), and historical Heritage Center are all within easy walking distance.
