This place is not convenient and the drive from I-40 or 55 is briefly thru a rough neighborhood and into an industrial area. Once you cross the levee it’s fine though and you are right on the river. Many sites have no shade and in July at 100 degrees the sun and humidity from the river was stifling. Unless you stay back from the river in the shade I wouldn’t stay here long in summer. Might be nice in fall or spring. The drive into Memphis relies only on the 40 bridge so traffic can easily make the drive 30 minutes or longer.
In general it’s fine for a one night stay.

“large park with a view of the great Mississippi River and the barges”

I was a row shy of the river. I had to look, from my RV, thru other rvs but there are benches near the water to sit and take in the sight of slow moving barges going up river. They travel through the night, but their low, constant rumble can't be heard from inside the RV with the windows closed. They didn't blow any hours like a distant train. It wasn't hear that often, even during the day. It's a nice place, but I can't comment on the showers or laundry which I didn't use. When you drive in, don't turn at the big STOP sign. Stop right there; don't turn in to the right like I did. I saw the big OFFICE sign but it didn't compute. That's the office. When you get your paperwork, you'll continue straight into the park. I would return if I'm in the area.

Park is safe and we would come here again. Being 25’ from the Mississippi is amazing.

Online no-contact check-in, most staff is friendly over the phone except one who confirms your reservation that has a thick accent that is difficult to understand. The sites are decent (especially the cement pads). We've stayed here 3x, each time it feels worse. The long term lots are quite messy! The only boat traffic on the muddy River are barges. I feel like the park needs quite a bit of maintenance, our water post was quite bent and the sewer hookup was below grade (and under water after last nts rain!) It is fairly quiet and has been windy everytime. This last time was also extremely smelly, like sewage!
The way in is long and up a steep grade at first then through the woods!

The campground is well maintained. The sites are well spaced and fairly level. Sites 1 to 27 have the most shade. Sites 40 to 76 have less shade, and sites 90+ have no shade. The views of the river are great. The staff are friendly.

We had our three grandchildren with us and they really enjoyed our site off the river and looking at the barges coming through. We let use their fishing poles at the lakes. The campers were really friendly also. We will definitely do an overnight with just me and the hubs.

They have sites along the River with a view of the barges or boats going by.
Large open field for playing (a but humid this time of year) no other kid things so entertain them you’re selves.
Quiet at night, not even a golf cart rolling by.
