Police were there 20 minutes after we arrived. 45 minutes later the water was off but I will say they got it fixed super fast. The pool looked clean but the rest of the amenities need a lot of work. We also seen several roaches outside. On a positive note all the hookups looked pretty new. I also really liked that I could book straight from Campendium app

Office is closed, no WiFi code, other than that ok. Not a 4 in our experience a solid 3. Looks sketchy but a safe 1 night stop.

We paid $45 cash for a FHU pull thru site. We did not have to disconnect and had about 16 feet to spare while pulling a 34 foot trailer. We were able to get a Dish satellite signal. Free wifi was good enough to stream a HD movie while web surfing. It looks like over half the sites are full time residents and everyone we spoke to was nice. A lot of things for kids to do, fishing, playground, putt putt golf, etc. This is an older park in need of some TLC and upgrades. Note that this campground is behind a Loves Travel Stop and about 1/4 mile east of the I-40 interchange. We experienced A LOT of truck noise with only a 3 mph west wind. A strong west or north wind would make this campground unbearable IMHO. For us, it was perfect for an overnight stop and we would do it again weather permitting.

There is a creek that runs past the back of the campground and a mini golf course that wasn’t open when we were there, perhaps due to Covid. More than 1/2 of the campers appear to be permanent. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.
Newport has all the essentials including a Walmart, Lowe’s and a number of restaurants. There are truck stops at Newport for fueling needs.
