Yes the park is a little “scruffy” if you need full hookups etc but there are few places left where you can camp right on the water and let the dogs swim and play all day and fish off the bank and have peace and quiet! We LOVE it here! The water is clean enough for swimming as well. Great camping area off trail 7 if you like boondocking. Cell is sporadic. Pit toilet nearby.
Catlemm would stay here again

“Rough around the edges and pricey.”

There aren't many places to overnight in this area so we swung in here. It needs some TLC for sure. It is a little scruffy around the edges. The dumpster was full. Many sites are super short. The sites had electric, but not water.
The kiosk information was inaccurate and incomplete. The rate schedule didn't fit the site post markers. I looked on line to find the rate for Spring Canyon Campground- $25. Pricey for a mediocre site with only electric (Many State Parks south of here gave us FULL hook-ops for less than that.) There may have been an additional $8/day vehicle fee as well, but since the signage was not clear, we didn't pay it.
We never saw a park staffer the whole two days we were there.
I would stay here again, to overnight, but only because you have to stop somewhere.
The lake level is way down, there were many boaters coming and going.
It was very quiet and peaceful.
MoonBear would stay here again
