Sunset Harbor RV Park

The other reviews prepped me for what to expect here and they weren’t wrong. It looks like over 70% of the spots are residential and a few at one end are for overnight guests. You cannot use their bathrooms or showers, you must be a fully set up rig. No tents. You can’t even put up a pop up canopy. No fire rings. The reservation system is a bit antiquated. I put in a reservation request online, and got nothing back. Finally called and got set up, but don’t expect anyone to be excited to talk to you. It has more of a “eh, I don’t really care if you stay here or not” vibe. There aren’t many places in the area to camp with fast enough upload/download speeds for work (Verizon) so it was literally here or the parking area right by the bay. I was glad we weren’t there because at least we had some wind protection and a little distance from the constant horn for boats. Do they call that a fog horn? But it blasts 24/7. I didn’t notice it much, but my husband did. We could also faintly hear the sea lions which was cool.

Super friendly gentleman running it who even kept the laundry open for us late. Sort of run down but still had full hookups and what we needed for a night (water and laundry). We don’t use RV parks often and typically boondock so we aren’t the best judges, but reviews of other areas talked about not feeling safe, this seemed pretty safe and fully fenced. About half of the occupied sites looked like residents.
