We wanted to camp close to Devils Tower, and this site was perfect for that. We took the first site which is on a very manageable road (we don’t have four wheel drive and we were fine) and a slight hill. We were a bit worried about wind because we were tent camping and there were thunderstorms in the area, but our tent held up fine through a heavy downpour. We did sit in the tent, though, because the ground was pretty firm and we couldn’t get the stakes in that well. We could hear the occasional car go by on the road, but other than that, it was pretty isolated and a really pretty site!

Seems like a nice site, just be careful early season and call ahead. Road was closed mid April, don’t know if that’s seasonal or permanent?
Area seemed awesome.

There Was No One Here On A Wednesday Night, And The Views Were Spectacular The Sunset And Nighttime Sky Was Absolutely Stunning! If I Didn’t Have Places To Go, I Would Stay Here A Lot Longer, there was also fire pits, which was very helpful last night for making dinner. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful spot in the forest, though, the flies were SO bad it was hard to spend any time outside. There didn’t seem to be very many spots. A couple close-ish to the main road and one further back in.
I’d probably try this spot again but at a different time of year.

There were several other sites along this offshore road. The dirt access road was in good shape at the time of writing. The spot was level enough to get sufficiently flat with Anderson blocks after moving around some.
The actual Sundance road is paved and in reasonable condition. Cell service was usable with ATT & T-Mobile. ATT had about 5mbps download and 5mbps upload. T-Mobile was slightly better at 9/3. We used a roof mounted Pepwave MIMO antenna. Speeds were substantially faster near the Reuters Campground a couple of miles away.
You can drop your trailer off at the Reuter OHV trailhead and scout the various roads and offshoots for a good spot if need be.
Fire ring had the standard unburned trash, but the area was spotless otherwise

It looks like a road, but it’s a dead end, so you can park right next to the fire ring. I didn’t need levelers for my van. Saw wild turkeys 2 days in a row.
Appears to have been a coyote killed and eaten behind me, huge mass of greyish/white fur and large bones that my GSD showed me *grin*. Oh, and TONS of flies!! That was the only down side to this area. I did see some trash, but very little compared to other places I’ve been. Don’t forget to pack out your cans and bottles folks! :)
Pretty good cell service the entire time (AT&T)
Beautiful views through the treetops.

*EDIT - this spot was at a trail head and the ranger said it isn't supposed to be for camping. I will add there are gravel roads off of the main highway through the NF that all have camping sites spread throughout the forest. I would caution anyone heading down these roads to scout it out first, we would not have been able to turn around on any of roads we drove down with our Jeep.
First off, please be aware this is an area used for grazing cattle and they roam freely everywhere. Use caution while driving, they cross the highway frequently from what we observed.
We entered the national forest hoping to be able to find a spot along the road this location references. I scouted ahead with the Jeep and I highly recommend to do the same if you can. There are not great spots to turn around if you have a decent size rig.
There is one good sized spot on the top of the hill after the first stretch before the road turns. This spot was taken, it may have worked for us. I found one other location that was also taken but there was a travel trailer backed into that spot. Other than that the spots are small and would work well for short travel trailers, pop ups and tents.
Ultimately we ended up another 1000 yards down the Sundance Warren Peak road and found a nice big open spot. It sits where highway 208 (Sundance-Warren Peak Road) and highway 100 (Warren's Peak Road) meet. Other than being right by the highway, which is lightly trafficked it's a great location for larger RV's. ATV's frequent this area as well.
For cell coverage we had 1 to 2 bars of LTE AT&T without our booster. With the weBoost 3 to 4 bars of LTE AT&T. We would occasionally get 5GE but not often. We worked from here without too much trouble. Download speed 18.4Mbps - upload speed 0.9Mbps with our the weBoost.

But they were already taken by people with tents. We moved up the hill and found a place to turn around (that was bumpy and tight) but had a semi-level place. Beautiful site on top of the mountain! Took a walk the next morning with our dog and found what looked to be a kill site for a mountain lion. At least 3 deer/sheep carcasses. So do be aware of that.

Update to area from previous posts. Comming from Sundance. Turn right on Warren Peak Road. You will see sign for NF. After entering NF it will be the first established Dirt road to right. About 2 miles past entrance to NF. As you come up Dirt road, You will see two previous rock fire rings on right. These are two well establish sites. Easily fits small class C or bumper pull.. We are in a 25ft travel trailer. If you turn to the rt, right after 2nd fire ring, you will see a vehicle trail path thru the trees. There are 2 more fire rings located down this path. Recommend only accessible by high clearance vehicle. Photos attached. There is 5th spot. Head past the 2 well established spots and turn on next road to left. Fire ring located on left of road. You can park on road if desired. If you continue down Forrest road and bare to rt were thr Forrest road curves last, you will find 2 more fire rings at top of hill.. very flat.. Accessible by for small bumper pull.. Very pretty Spotted! The road is a dead end. Recommend small RV or small bumper pull. At our spot, we had 4g lte, 1 to 3 bars service, but at the 5th spot, 4g lte 4 bars of verizon.
