Campground closed as of 10/6/24 due to storm damage(trees)and NO SIGNS alerting you of this before pulling in fairly narrow entrance road w’ limited turn around options.

This is a city managed park with a limit of five nights. It is surrounded by city park property full of trails, a disc golf course, ball fields, and it has a pool and pavilion area. It’s also home to an extensive mountain bike trail system that is used for competitions. This is a very hilly park and it’s probably not wise to bring in anything over 35 feet or so. Most sites will require a bit of effort to get level. Nonetheless, it’s beautiful, peaceful, and lush here and we really enjoyed our three night stay. They have a website but don’t take reservations. Just show up around 3pm and a ranger will assign you a site based on your rig. The only downside to this park was the showers. Clean enough but very low water pressure and no real privacy. We would probably stay again if in the area for a couple nights.

It’s first come first serve. The rangers are pleasant. There’s a clean dump station. What lets the site down is the restroom. There is absolutely no privacy. There aren’t even doors on the toilet cubicles.. just flimsy and in one case (women’s room) torn, shower curtains. It would be extremely awkward to use the facilities with another person there. The shower itself is marginally more privacy with saloon doors. It’s clean and the water is hot. In conclusion it is great for self contained rigs but not so much for campers.

A really lovely, clean and tidy state park. No reservation, first come first served but was almost empty on a Tuesday when I arrived. The ranger was friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.

Very quiet even though it’s not too far from I81. Big rigs may have an issue once inside the campground as it is a little tight in some places. It’s FCFS year round except for the Bristol race and 1 other local festival. Best $20 we spent on this trip.

Many sites are best suited for very small travel trailers or vans, but there are 75 sites to choose from. For $20/night we had electricity, water, picnic table, fire ring, and a grill. Some sites get free WiFi. We have a 19’ TT pulled with a Toyota Tundra and we had plenty of room at site 44. The road loops so you can look around and make an informed choice that works for you. There were maybe a dozen campers here during the week in early May.

This campsite was quite nice for $20. It’s heavily wooded, so shady and quiet. We saw lots of deer. They don’t take reservations but on a Saturday night in July, there were only about 10 campers on 50 sites. Each site has electricity and water (connection is out on the edge of the road) is shared between several sites so easy to have a water hookup if your hose is long enough. The loop road is quite narrow and you need to be brave to make it with a big 5th wheel of class A. I’d say this park is more appropriate for small-mid sized campers. Sites 21 and 26 are pull through a. The rest are back in and with a narrow slot and road, you need pretty good backing up skills. With most of the park empty, take a drive around to pick your best spot. Don’t take the first one you see. The bathrooms are totally adequate although not fancy. It’s a city park. They have a dump on the way out of the campground. There is cell service on the front half, none on the back half. This park is lovely and a bargain for $20.
