Overall Rating
Very nice and calm spot. Place with clean restrooms, seating area, far enough from the highway so you don’t hear cars much. We watched herd of deers and glowworms in the evening. Even sheriff came to check us 😃. Overall awesome place for overnight!

There was another rest area close by on 290 which is where most people may land. I had this spot all to myself and it was absolutely perfect. I could not hear and road noise from 290, but the acorns kept falling on my RV all night which woke me up many times... Great spot overall!

One of the nicest rest stops we’ve stayed at! The trees are beautiful and offer nice shade. Covered picnic tables, grassy area for dog walks, but be aware of the goat heads if you have a tender footed pup. Deer and turtles in and over the river. Play ground for kids, big and little. One of the nicest rest stops we’ve stayed at! The trees are beautiful and offer nice shade. Covered picnic tables, grassy area for dog walks, but be aware of the goat heads if you have a tender footed pup. Deer and turtles in and over the river. Play ground for kids, big and little. Clean basic bathrooms. 2 handicap spots to work around for RVs, but there is room for a few rigs, both big and small. We stayed here in our 25ft trailer and truck. Try the plug-in on the lamppost, it’s supposed to work once the light comes on and is ok to use.

Gem of a spot. Allows you to stay 24 hours. Simple toilet, playground, BBQ and picnic tables. Next to a quiet river.

The site is fairly small but very nice. Our 30” Class a plus toad fit fine but took up most of the main parking area. It’s not on the main road so was very quite. There were deer along the river in the afternoon and at night. This is about 15 miles outside of Fredericksburg.

Very convenient to the Lyndon B Johnson parks. Overnight parking allowed but not to exceed 24 hours. Covered picnic tables and clean bathroom. TXDOT WiFi available with slow speeds (1.1 Mbps download and 3.73 Mbps upload) but good for maps and email.

The trees may be too low for the tallest RVs, but my 12’2” tall motorhome cleared well. The restrooms are basic, but are cleaned every day. There are covered picnic tables, grills, and trash barrels as well as playground equipment for kids. Overlooks the Pedernales River. I’ve stayed here many nights and several in a row, which is OK as long as you’re not on site more than 24 hrs at a time.
