This campground has changed significantly since the last review. It now has marked sites, electric, and a price. When I was there it was $22 a night, but when I spoke to a regular camper he mentioned it goes up a few dollars every year. The sites are just spots on an open field with signposts and electric boxes indicating where to park. No gravel or pad of any sort. Unfortunately this means the sites get pretty bogged down when it rains. It rained for about two hours one day when I was there and many of the sites were basically flooded. Mine was sitting in about six inches of water and the ground was too soft to even unhitch. Those that weren't flooded were very, very muddy.
The campground itself was pretty full, with campers packed side by side. This may have been because of the approaching Memorial Day (I was there a week before the holiday, not on the weekend), but a regular camper mentioned it's always pretty full in the summer. Some campers were just parked in spots without any people or trucks around, presumably holding the "first-come, first-serve" spots for the weekend.
Beyond the two fields where there is camping, there's a boat ramp and a kind of run-down playground. There aren't a lot of places to walk in the park, and outside of the park there was about two blocks worth of "town". There were several cute looking shops in the town, but most were closed when I was there and many seemed to keep strange hours (my favorite being "open by chance").
I will mention that the lake/river views are phenomenal, which probably accounts for the campground's popularity.
In a dry season, on a less busy week, and if you like to sit still, this could be a nice place to visit. It definitely wasn't for me.

“Small town riverside park”

Stockholm is a small town divided by Rte 35 that follows the Wisconsin side of the Miss. River which become and enlargement here called Lake Pepin. The C/G is on the river/lakeside of Stockholm at the main intersection it town. Just head west two blocks (short) and cross the RR track and make yourself at home. Sites are not marked, are grass and no utilities as of yet. It is hard not to have a waterfront view.
This is the kind of last park one might imagine where summer afternoons local kids ride their bikes to, jump in the water at the beach or fish from a log just haven a good time talking and yelling to one another. You can step back in time here.
Oh yes, did I mention the RR. I grew up next to the track (almost on the wrong side) so it is nostalgic to me. On the other hand, not so for others (guess on what side of the track they grew up!).
Tomp would stay here again
