Other than being awoken from a much needed nap in my hammock by the camp host wanting to verify our national park senior pass, our stay was lovely! Very pretty site with views of Beaver Lake.

Starkey, park is located at the end of a long winding steep secondary road and access is beaver lake. Sites one through seven are full hook up campsites but with 30 A. The park has volt toilets and one set of showers. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. our site has a fly trap because flies abound keep your doors shut. Leveling is an issue. Most of the sites I saw were not level at all site 10 is extremely tilted laterally. Entering the park the dump station is on the driver side, and so is the water, the first station with water on the passenger side is across from site one. However, upon entering Loop one through seven it’s a very steep incline and evidence of many people bottoming out as they enter is prevalent. site 19 is fairly new and quite level. However, weekends are booked up. do not let your GPS for you, drive all the way through town on 62 and proceed 3 to 4 miles after town to make a left into the Starkey park area. Our GPS tried to turn too early and got us on a dirt road trying to take us over a mountain.
