Had a really nice spot that overlooked to the lake. Close to the bathrooms which were clean. Has a swimming area blocked off so that was nice.

Reviews based on conditions at the time. Mainly came to kayak which was good considering a lot of areas were closed due to high water including the swimming area. Thought I’d share the better locations for longer RV’s. Spots 21, 26, 33, 35 looked to be best for backing into. FYI, there’s four bathroom/shower combinations for the entire campground. Good luck booking online, probably be better off calling camphost to see if they are actually booked up. Overall beautiful area. Also FYI in case you are allergic to cedar they are scattered throughout campground.

Stayed right on the water next to what appeared to be a lost parking lot. It was a very busy campground, but clean and friendly. Be aware that there are also lots of day campers coming in and out, putting boats in the water and taking them out again!

Camped 5/17/19 & 5/18/19 (Fri, Sat). Glad to have reserved (recreation.gov, no extra fee) since it seems to be a popular campground. The park hosts were friendly & even though it was busy, told us there were 3 sites left if we wanted to switch. Our site (35) was at the beginning of the loop, in a less busy area, so we decided not to switch. This campground is pretty and very well maintained, with a mix of sun and shade spots, including a number of lakeside sites. Some sites have covered picnic tables (most don't). Lakeside sites share a water pump; the rest have their own, along with the electric post.
Shower house has 4 unisex rooms, all handicapped accessible. Each shower/bathroom was clean, had hand soap, air fresheners and strong hand driers. Shower heads provided a wide spray, probably water-saving, but did the job & you didn't have to keep pushing a button to keep the water on.
There's a boat ramp & parking for boats, a playground, large picnic area (lakeside), and the beach even offers free life jackets for kids. Water looked clear & water's edge was sandy/rocky. Sites not far from lakeside had lake views. Most sites were spaced out nicely, seemed fairly level, but some were downhill. Some even had a "driveway" down to the site and were quite large.
Dense woods are on either side of the campground, but we didn't have an issue with bugs. It was breezy; lakeside spots had full-on wind. Each site had a picnic table (ours had cement pad underneath), fire ring, trash hook, and even a bench to keep firewood off the ground. No trash barrels around, just one dumpster on one side of the campground. There are two martin houses in the campground - with martins! Being there on a busy weekend there was some noise, but actually the campground was mostly (surprisingly) quiet.
Access is down a beautiful, winding road (Main St/AR-127). For conveniences, there's a Dollar General in Garfield and also a Conoco General Store w/gas at the intersection of Hwy 62 & AR-127.
