There is no cell coverage for a few miles before you even get to the campground. There are no electric sites even though it looks like they have the infrastructures to might add that in the future. Can only recommend to go on the wayah rd towards Bryson city, beautiful road along the river.

This is apparently a well guarded secret by the locals and certain prime sites (i.e. 13) get booked way in advance, but since about half of the sites are First Available, we were still able to find a nice site on a weekend. We looked at sites in loop 5, but while they were more private b/c there were more trees and bushes between sites, the sites are smaller and the larger groups of mostly tent campers were actually much closer together, so we chose site 46 in loop 2 for a bit more space and distance between camp fires. Site 46 was directly across from one of the trails by the river and one of the openings to the river, so lots of foot and bike traffic, but nothing bothersome. Lots of nice trails for varying hiking levels, or it's also just relaxing to sit outside and listen to the river and birds.
Bathrooms are in each loop and consist of a single stall toilet/sink room one each for men and women and then 2 shower rooms. They were very clean. Campground hosts were very nice and friendly. In talking to one of our site neighbors who come often, the hosts have been hosting for many years and definitely keep a lid on after hour noise and out of control campers, which is nice to know.
No Verizon coverage even with a booster.

Really nice sites, site 16 was directly across from the river which made for pleasant background sounds. Lots of great hiking trails right from the campground.

This campground is outside of Franklin near the Appalachian Trail. That was the main appeal for us, as we did not bring a toad. We could access trails very easily from the campground. We have a 21 foot class C. There are several loops to choose from. Most are paved access, but we chose the last section which was a gravel road. It was no problem for our small rig, but I wouldn't take a class A or trailer on that loop as the turns are tight. Campsites are tidy with fire rings and lantern posts. No hook-ups at all in the campground. There are bathrooms with showers and a dump station (which is easy to miss as it is outside the campground). There is no coverage at all for AT&T. There are water spigots and water at the dump station. We did not need air conditioning there in August, which was pretty cool! (Pun intended!) In the first, bigger loop, there was not much for privacy, but we were pleased with the separation of sites in the gravel loop. I think you would also get more privacy in the loop near the creek. Quiet hours are 10-6. Lots of camp hosts on site. Trash cans are easily accessible. I gave this four stars only because the price seemed a bit high for no hook-ups on USFS land. Otherwise, it was lovely.

Close to the river and multiple hiking trails, this was a great location. I definitely appreciated that the bathrooms were kept so well cleaned, too.
