This is a dry dusty dirty RV park. I was travelling and got late in the day so I called about reservations. They said plenty of 50 amp spots and $70 which was pretty high but I was road weary. I arrive at sunset and told only spots are in the middle of a motorcycle rally! You can hear dirt bikes revving up all over the park. I complain I was told PLENTY of spots but again only right in the middle of the party. They finally say they have one on the other side and I accept that. There was actually MANY other 50 amp spots! Do all the paperwork and now it's $90! I'm too tired to argue and pay the price.
Spot is just an uneven dirt lot. Couldn't get quite level with my Anderson levelers so had to stay a bit out of level. Hose bib filthy and corroded. Everything seemed to work.
I'm a full time RV'er and have stayed in a variety of RV parks and this is a $25 a night joint at best! When I've paid $90 it's usually almost luxury and certainly more than a dirt lot. Plus I was quoted $70...
Thing is they KNOW they are the only game in town. You roll in at sunset and your options are boondock or drive another hour to a better place. I was too tired and needed off the road and instead of being helpful they took advantage of me. I bad to charge batteries and dump tanks so boondocking not a good option.
Real miserable people that would pull such a move! I've been on the road full time for almost 5 years and this was by far the biggest rip off I've ever encountered
Beautiful spot in the desert just too bad it's run by rip off artists!
To be avoided at ALL costs! Plan ahead! Boondock in Blair Valley if you don't need facilities!

We arrived in the dark. When I say dark I mean DARK. There is very little light pollution at this park. The sky is HUGE and beautiful. Absolutely no cell service and the park WiFi is not strong away from the clubhouse. It was really spotty at site 130 and the park was not very full at all. Absolutely no cell service and the park WiFi is not strong away from the clubhouse. It was really spotty at site 130 and the park was not very full at all. Great little grocery store with a number of RVing supplies. We will definitely come back when we can bring our own WiFi.

We arrived after office closed. Found our site easily. Sites are dirt lots, so not level, but close. All hook ups were easy to connect to. They are not a busy campground with how big they are. Staff was very pleasant. General store was well stocked if you need something.

We wanted to spend a day in the town of Julian and Stagecoach Trails is perfectly situated. We stayed two nights but didn’t get a chance to check out many of the amenities. The park is large, with both pull-though and back in spaces. Most sites have a picnic table and firepit. There’s a dedicated area for the horse crowd with corrals and a horsewash rack. Other amenities include restrooms/showers, a pool, playground, volleyball and horseshoe pits. We did enjoy the large, fenced dog run. The Shelter Valley Event Center is also located in the park. The office is in a very well-stocked camp store that serves pizza, hotdogs, and ice cream.
The sites are dirt/gravel and most of the pull-throughs are staggered so you’re facing your neighbor, but off set a bit. Luckily the park wasn’t very full when we visited in mid-February so we got an end spot. Otherwise, you are very close to your neighbor. The park has a fair number of mesquite and evergreen trees, but this is still the desert so not a lot of privacy.
Julian is a fun touristy town with lots of shops, several great bakeries, and a good brewery, The Julian Beer Company, that has excellent food.
We had little to no Verizon at our campsite and the park’s wifi was barely usable and not very reliable. Cell reception was better near the office.

Halloween weekend 2015 my friends and I stayed here because I found a groupon offering a great deal on camping. The grounds are beautifully maintained and it is obvious someone has put a lot of love and craftmanship into this place. There is a small swimming pool, community building area, and a store/deli with an amazing selection of groceries at overall great prices (some campgrounds will gouge you for a bottle of ketchup, not this one!) We also saw adorable small cabins for rent for those who don't like tents. Because it was Halloween, the campground threw a party for locals and visitors and hosted a cake walk, games for the kids, and a raffle drawing. We threw our costumes on, grabbed our beers, and joined the fun! My husband won best costume and a free treat from the deli, a friend won a free night camping, and someone else attending even won an amazon kindle! The staff put their heart into the little shindig and we were touched by their love for their little piece of desert oasis. If you love desert views and genuine people- go check this place out.
