We arrived on Oct 2 and they had just turned off water to the sites and closed the restrooms. Its was not an issue for us. They still had water available at a couple locations. Great spot right in Spearfish. Walk to the fish hatchery or access Spearfish Canyon. Have to reserve space online.

The campground is in a good, quiet location. Lots of people who come in on the weekends and sparse during the week. The problem we had was pulling into and out of the site and I think a lot of others did as well. While the sites are long enough to fit a 40' fifth wheel, the way they are situated at 90 degree back-in and the single lane road in front make it very difficult to get into the space. We chose site 22 with this in mind because it gives you a little extra road in front at the dump station in order to make the back-in possible. We saw several people having problems trying to back into their spaces with larger rigs. Ideally they should have made them 45 degree sites on a single lane road. Choose your site carefully!
We had full hookups and no problems with the utilities.
Starlink gave us 84 down and 17 up. We had 3 bars on the Verizon phones (29/5) and 5 bars with the cell antenna (17/8). AT&T was 4 bars with the cell antenna (21/7).

There were a lot of RVs and a decent few tents. I was worried about noise but it wasn’t a problem at all. Tents can pick their own space from a few sections. It was so nice to have a shower after camping wild for a few days. Bathrooms were very clean. Lots of facilities including recycling.

Unfortunately, the sites are very close together. Fire pits are right outside the trailer so if you're trying to get some fresh air you can't because your rig gets filled up with campfire smoke.
Wouldn't stay here again due to the tight spots, noise from other campers until all hours, and the thick wood smoke that basically chokes you out.

We pretty much had the campground to ourselves since it was still winter time. A most beautiful park with lots of deer, turkey, goose and dog walkers. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here in January and roads were plowed, but campsites weren’t. Sites had electricity/sewer and they had a water hydrant to fill tanks. Get walking trails around park and a lot of wildlife around $20 per night in winter

Very nice city run campground. Sites are close together but lots of green belt areas and two streams. Our lab loved the water and was wet for two days.

In town to see our son play baseball for the Spearfish Sasquatch (go catch a ballgame when you're in town!) and the Spearfish City Campground is a beautiful place to camp and glamp. Our full hookup site was near Spearfish Creek and its rushing waters. Sites are a bit tight so any slide outs will impede on neighboring sites. For the price though, with full hookups, this campground is worth it for a few nights. Walking distance to downtown Spearfish with its many shops and restaurants. The neighboring fish hatchery is free and has a lot of history to it.
