No issues with access, water pressure, or electrical hookups. The website does note that laundry is available but it's a 1 machine deal. More substantial laundry is down the road at Coyote Howl
There's a moderate amount of road noise given the location.

Small campground that Joyce, the owner, has been fixing up the past few years. She is a gem as others have mentioned and went out of her way to make sure my stay was comfortable. Unfortunately there were low voltage problems with the electric, possibly a bad neutral, but she did her best to help troubleshoot and offered a refund if I wanted to move to another campground. Because I liked the campground and she was so nice, I opted to stay. It much in Why but Ajo has a lot to offer as does Organ Pipe. Close to the border and safe place to leave your rig if you would like to take a trip. Would stay here again

What a great, quiet place to stay :) Joyce, the owner does an amazing job. She's personable, helpful and gives you a custom packet of things to do near by. She also creates a wonderful sense of community and welcoming there :)

After boondocking in the Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge for a week we decided to head over and check out the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. I looked online at the 3 or 4 RV parks around Why and after reading the reviews immediately settled on Sonoran Skies, we were not disappointed!
We arrived and Joyce came out to meet us and we had a great chat! She handed us a thick binder with things to do, places to see, restaurants to eat at, in 18 months full time on the road that was a first. As we have solar on the roof of our TT we opted for a partial (water/sewer) hookup site (I wish more campgrounds offered this), the site was level gravel and in between two trees, loads of space for our opposing slide-outs. After setting up camp and popping open a cold one Joyce came over and asked if we needed anything, another lovely touch.
Yes, the campground is just off 85, but the traffic is light during the day and you can barely hear it. We are light sleepers and with the warm nights we had the windows open, didn’t hear anything except the desert breeze.
Water and sewer hookups worked great. Nice view north for Starlink. On Saturday evening we got invited to the communal campground firepit and chatted away with the other folk staying there, another nice touch.
All in all, a great stay, super clean, very quiet, lots of space. Joyce has great plans for the park and we look forward to returning next winter. Thanks for everything Joyce!

I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re new to RV’ing. If you’re lucky enough, all the same friendly faces wii still be there. Joyce is a wealth of information about the Sonoran Desert, Organ Pipe, the local area, and will literally go out of her way to help you out. We spent the entire winter and definitely plan on coming back!! We left feeling like we’d made lifetime friends.

I was attracted to Sonoran Skies' campground due to its proximity to Organ Pipe National Monument and positive comments about Joyce, the very welcoming owner/host. This is a small campground which fit our needs perfectly. Joyce contacted me a couple of days in advance to confirm our arrival. She called me again to inform me that day of our arrival there would be a local festival in the main area of the town of Ajo with food and music that we might enjoy. We took her suggestion and had a lovely, relaxing time. Joyce met us upon arrival to make sure we had everything we needed and she provided us with lots of brochures and maps pertaining to the local area. We made good use of them. That evening Joyce invited us to join in a communal campground fire where we enjoy the company of the other campers.
Our space was clean and the campground was very quiet except for very faint road noise.
Joyce is working hard to refurbish the campground that sat vacant for years. We wish her the best and would gladly stay there again.

Propane is 1/2 mile south at the Why Not Travel Store. It also has gas, food, restrooms and tables to sit outside at the cactus. Very beautiful. There is a restaurant next door too but the service is slow and its small.
