This park is very close to Savannah, has nice walking/running trails and as an extra perk has a Publix grocery store within biking distance. Cellular WiFi was good and the restrooms/showers were clean.
We enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

We were excited to stay here to experience Savannah given our experience with other state parks where you normally get a peaceful setting and good value. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with our site at this park which clouded our experience.
Value:
Poor. While we booked the park last minute, for the $45/night rate, we expected all sites would be great quality. Our site though was poor quality- it was very muddy after a few days of rain, had tire ruts from the last occupant, and it wasn't level at all. The worst part though was that the site was actually an elbow shape that made it incredibly difficult to park our travel trailer even though it's only 22ft. While the site had length limits (that we met) when we booked it online, there should have been mention about the odd shape of the site. When we brought this to the attention of management, they weren't willing to provide a discount - just a refund which wasn't helpful since everything else in the area was booked.
Dog-Friendliness:
Good. There are a number of interesting dog-friendly trails through the park that vary in length.
Runner's and Biker's Rave:
Good. While we didn't have a chance to run or bike, the trails in the park would've been good options.
Overall, the park is in a pretty setting and there were a number of sites that looked to be better quality, but our experience with our site made this a park we won't go back to.

This is a quiet campground with large sites. Each site has a 15 x15 elevated platform with a picnic table. It's like being on stage. Next to the platform is a steel fire ring w/grate.
Bath house are close and clean. This park also has cable hookups for each site. Most sites are pull thru.
Good access the Savannah. Groceries nearby.

Full hookups with 50 amp and easy to navigate. Level sites and strong power. Cable tv is so rare in a State Park but this has it.
Used the hotspots for internet w/out any issue. ATT (7mb d/l) and Verizon (10mb d/l) without a booster. Bathrooms were a bit dated but clean. I didn't check out the showers.
There's lots to do here. Savannah is very close and the park itself has miles of hiking trails. It's a dog friendly area with lots of nice walking opportunities. They have well placed free dog bags and trash cans in convenient locations.
There's a nice laundromat 20 minutes away (Suds) with plenty of large and clean machines. Suds is overpriced though. Shopping is very convenient with everything you could need within 15 minutes.
The only negative I want to mention is the check in time is 1pm. We showed up at 12:47 and the man at the desk decided to make a point of 13 minutes and not allow us to check in. It seemed a bit petty.
Besides that, there was nothing that could be improved here. It's a wonderful relaxing place.

We did not camp as you need a reservation. They were full up. But we picnicked all day and hiked the trails for just the price of the $5 parking fee!
Gorgeous! Peaceful, shady. They rent bikes but you can also walk trails or just picnic in peaceful silence. Love this place!

That said there were renovations to the restrooms while we were there so maybe updates are in the works. We stayed in a full hookup site on the end of a row that felt very spacious(Site 51). Bathrooms were outdated but clean. Nice hiking trails. Minutes from the Wormsloe Historic Site(beautiful), @ 20-minute drive from downtown Savannah. There was a Publix supermarket within 5 minutes for necessities. Firewood was sold at the camp office. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall we had a great experience here and with a little updating, this could be a great park.

You can easily access Tybee Island and Savannah from here, or it’s far enough away that you can just escape for a few days. Price was $42/night + an extra vehicle fee for 1st night of $5 so we just bought the ‘Friends of Georgia’ Pass and then you get 10% off a night (but Pass comes with 2 free nights of camping which we instantly redeemed!!). All of the sites are pull through and the part of the park where our spot was (58) was nice and secluded, esp with the 2 dogs. Couple great walking trails. Bathrooms were very clean. (The middle bath house was being renovated.). Super friendly staff of volunteers. Kroger’s and Publix near by.

Easy access to Savannah and Hilton Head Island. Stayed here 8 days, site comes with cable TV. Great site nice and private.
Tybee Island has nice beaches, but no dogs. Hilton head has 3 dog beaches. After Nov 1, dogs can be off leash if under voice command.

Trails are good, showers are good, hookups are good, dump station and dumpsters are all good, access to Savannah was great... just can't get over the bugs.
Can get quite a bit of day-use traffic.

Yes, there is plenty of shade. But in the summer it is HUMID!!! Not recommended for a summer stay. I have not actually stayed here, but I've lived in Georgia all my life and in Savannah for several years. Expect gnats and mosquitos also.
