Off I-10, Take the exit to Iraan, TX 349, go south about 6 miles into Sheffield. Continue on 349, it turns right,. About 2 blocks, 2nd street, turn left to the end, turn right and it’s there!
Very quiet.
Good 30a power for $20. water available.
A real pleasant surprise!!

The site is exactly as noted. Very affordable. No frills just an easy place to stay. There is electricity available for an extra cost. No pad, just a fairly flat unpaved spot. Great for star watching as it is very dark. Check with the owner depending on whether you are coming in from the east or west to get best directions.

First off, don’t let Google do the driving! It routed us through a back way that shouldn’t be on the map so explore the streets in satellite mode before trying. Basic dirt patch, quiet. Owner is a nice guy that I spoke to via phone.
The place is quiet and seems safe enough.

We have 38-foot Class A and fit in just fine with room for others. Some detritus to the rear but beautiful mountain views out front. Driving in, Sheffield looks like it has seen better days, but we felt very safe. Finally a quiet night: no interstate noise, no roosters, no loud mufflers racing through the streets.

Google Maps, Apple Maps, and I assume others, are not 100% accurate in this area. I have sent a request for correction to all the major map apps...still waiting for them to correct the errors. (10-25-22)
