This is really a beautiful spot on a small reservoir about an hour east of Calgary. Pretty clean concrete pit toilet and garbage and recycle containers as well as a few picnic tables and fire pits (although the long term folks had most of these). Seems to be decent fishing. There were a number of RV’s, look like they were set up for much of the summer but there was a big open grassy area you can park anywhere. Some slope but you are able to find fairly level spots. There are also a couple spots along the water that weren’t taken. Only about a half km on gravel. Very quiet. Decent cell service on Telus.

Very close to main road. It was busy but quite. Looks like a popular fishing hole. Great bird watching - water fowl, pelicans, cranes, grebe,… Ebiked road that reached around 3/4 of the lake and then down a country road. Cell service.

Good cell signal on high ground but gets weaker down by the water.
We camped on the hill to the right of the main drive in. Footing is grass but with dirt patches. Dirt here turns to sticky mud with rain so choose your spot carefully if wet weather is in the forecast during your stay.
Friendly community of campers were staying for several months at the water's edge on the north side of the resevoir when I was there in Oct 2019. No stay limit currently at this location.
Possible to drive around and camp on the south side but the road gets sketchy after the turn around. Scout this first if you are unsure.
Some road noise from adjacent gravel road but traffic is very infrequent and mostly farm equipment.
Pit toilets and garbage dumpsters on site.
No water or sanidump. Free potable water is available at the municipal campground in Standard, about 15 minute drive south. Standard also has a dump for $5 but it was locked when I was there on Oct 4, 2019.

There are about 8 sites with fire pits, but it seems that people will set up wherever. Most sites are dirt, or grass, with some having gravel. If there is rain, we were told that the whole grounds becomes extremely slippery. Not a lot of trees here, so plenty of solar and plenty of wind.

Just East off Highway 840 on Township 262. Only 15 minutes from Rosebud Alberta (check https://www.rosebud.ca for current events and amenities including an RV dump). Closest public gas station is Strathmore or Drumheller. Check Wheatland County for fire ban info.
