This looks to be a great park for a weekend or longer stay—lot of hiking trails, lakes, and beautiful fall scenery. We needed just an overnight stay and it was pretty far off the freeway and it appeared many sites were pretty unlevel.

We were delighted with our full hookup site in Loop C. There are only about a dozen sites on the loop and they are spaced out very nicely so it didn't feel crowded even when all the spots were occupied, despite having just grass between the sites. The paved sites were flawless and we found the online information about site length to be accurate. Loop C has its own bathhouse (as do other loops) and with the small number of sites it was never busy. The shower facilities are a little dated but they were spotlessly clean during our stay. We were pleasantly surprised to find one washer and one dryer in each of the men's and women's bathrooms, and with the small number of campers on the loop there was no wait! Our only complaint is that our site was really swampy, with standing water on the back end, but because of the paved pad and the concrete pad under the picnic table we were able to enjoy it anyway.
The park has extensive trails, though the one off our loop was a little overgrown by the end of the season (September), as well as many water activities (boat launches, beaches, marina, etc.). There is a lot to do here, but come prepared with groceries and activities because there isn't much in the immediate vicinity of the park. Access from I-77 was pretty easy but takes 20-30 minutes because the roads are winding and the park is large. We used this as a stopover when traveling south along I77 and it worked perfectly.
We were thrilled to have excellent internet service on AT&T -- download of 47 Mbps, upload 15.

Large state park with several camping loops. We stayed in Loop F (Site F28, 20/30/50 amp electric only). Park is a few miles off I-77. Check-in experience was great. Staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. Camp store was reasonably stocked and priced. Fire wood was $5 per bundle and dry (burned very well). Roads into and around the campground are freshly paved, as are the sites. Potable water at the dump station. Potable water spigots are well separated from the dumping area, minimizing possible contamination. There are 4 dump stations at the campground entrance.
Campground has its own beach and boat ramp with ample parking. The lake is large and inviting. Although the camping loops are not very treed, the trail system, which is excellent and well marked, is heavily treed.
Most sites are electric only. There are some full hook-up sites. Most sites on the outside of Loop F tend to have an incline to the rear of the site. We had to raise the rear duals of our class c motor home 5 inches to level front to back. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table.
This is our second stay at this park and we will return.

This campground is within 2 hrs of Pittsburgh and easy access from I 70. The bathrooms were clean and the sites were very spacious. Look at the photos to pick a wooded site as their are some woth little to no privacy.
The Verizon data speeds were serviceable if you don't need to work, at around 4.59 mbps download and 202 kbps upload speeds, with a booster. Don't plan on video calls from this part of the campground ( A loop.)
There are some very nice sites, here, which make it a weekend go-to for me, close to home.

This park is very well groomed and most of the trails within the park had been cleared of vegetation so there was no fighting through the weeds. There are a number of good hikes within the park. We were there Columbus weekend and it was hopping but everyone quieted by 10.

We live about 3.5 hours away and make the at least one trip a year to this campground. Most the sites have lots of space. You don't feel like you are on top of the neighbor. There are some full hook up sites but they fill up quickly. I can't tell you how the campground is on the weekends cause we stay Sunday to Friday. It is quiet campground and dark at night. I can't tell you how the shower house is since my camper is self contained. Located on the lake but none of the sites are waterfront. There is boat ramp and beach just for the campground. Located about 11 miles off the interstate. Helpful hint if coming from the east heading west. Go to I-77 to exit 47. GPS will take you down some narrow hilly roads. It is about 11 miles further but won't have a rough ride. If you have a telescope this would be the campground to use it at.
