The price was $3 with our senior pass. We stayed here early May 2021. The sites were not groomed or numbered and our 3 truck campers shared one site with plenty of space, just parking on grass. This would not be advisable in dry weather, however. There was a picnic table and fire ring, and a clean vault toilet. Lots of pine trees, no mosquitoes. The spring was across the road and was fenced to keep range cattle out, as was the campground. It was chilly, about 45-50 with a breeze, but we enjoyed a campfire after collecting abundant dead wood. This forest does become extremely dry in the summer and campfires are banned. There are no hiking trails from the site, but a walk down the gravel road sufficed. No cell service with US Cellular with no booster. It was a fine stopover on our way to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.
FreeRoad would stay here again
