We stayed here only one night. The hosts Justin and Allison were terrific, I can't say enough about the hospitality they afforded. They are building this campground from scratch and it is a wonderful work in progress. We saw a beautiful double rainbow that night. This was a jumping off spot for us to camp at before going to Big Bend for two weeks. This is the best campground in the area if you plan on going to the park but not staying in it. We camped at RoadRunner Travelers RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Tip for Other Campers: Need an Amazon package, send it to Whites Hardware up the road. Need groceries go to Cottonwood general store. Want to eat or have a cocktail in a really cool restaurant (doesn't look like much from the outside) go to La Kiva in Terlingua. Further down the road is the Ghost town and past that is the Big Bend Ranch State Park, well worth a visit or just a drive along the Ron Grande. Don't forget to ask them for a marker to use to sign your name on their water tanks.

We stayed here after 2 nights in the state park. This park is very close to Big Bend National Park which worked well for us. Chris was a great host giving us the option of 2 different sites in case the one site was still occupied. We didn’t get to spend much time here but I’m sure if we had my husband would have been out trying to find some cornhole players. You can tell that Chris and Allison are working hard to update the campground and it’s easy to see that they are planning for all of the sites to have full hook-ups. We would stay again if we are ever back in the area. We were in an electric only site.

Very nice RV park for being in the desert! The park is still being developed, no bathrooms at this time. Great dog park, very nice desert landscaping. Tables and fire pits at every site. A great place to stay with your RV!

Water pressure was a little low (think I had a reading sub-50), so showers [inside our RV] weren't the best. Spent a lot of time outside anyways hanging with the neighbors. Great park for kids - two playgrounds. Huge dog park. Firepit included on each site. Chris & Allison were VERY accommodating for our large party - my in-laws wanted to camp in a tent just outside our RV. This place is only going to get better as well - soon to have bath house / laundry. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Perfect for visiting Big Bend. Located 3 miles from the Maverick entrance. It’s like most private Rv parks throughout south Texas, parking lots. Not as bad as some we saw, this has game sections and a dog park, decent landscaping. Check in was online, your site written on a blackboard when you entered. When I called to report a power outage at 5 am, I got a call back immediately.
Cons: First day a large black dog was wandering around, not sure who he belonged to but there’s not an office or host to report it to. He didn’t appear to belong to anyone camping here.
Campsites 43-45 are right on the highway, big house blocking the morning sunrise, lots of activity around the house. Wouldn’t choose that location again
It’s supposedly Dark Sky but the lights from the campground, liquor store and surround area were not conducive to dark sky viewing. One camper had a string of lights.
Beautiful sunrise and sunsets!

We stayed for three nights in a full hook up site. The park was easy to find and in a great location in between Big Bend Ranch State Park and the National Park. Due to a wind storm in NM, our plans changed and the host at Roadrunners were able to provide us an additional night to start our visit. The park looks pretty basic at first, but once there you realize the hosts put a lot of effort into keeping the place nice with additional touches here and there. We never met the hosts and being cool & windy during our visit most folks stayed inside. Be advised - There are no showers or restroom facilities but that was fine for us. Considering how massive BB NP is, this is a good location to explore the Eastern side without driving an hour inside the park. Definitely take the scenic drive through the SP. Gas just up the street and fully stocked small grocery “Cottonwood” a mile down the road toward the NP. We would stay again.

Campground looks nice but we were passing through and needed to dump our tanks. They would not allow us to. Their name shows up on line as a place allowing dumps but this is not the case. Seems like all the campgrounds in this area do not want non customers to use their dump sites even when you offer to pay them.
