Best sites are pull through next to the river, but ours was spacious and shaded. No Att cell signal but WiFi at the rest room. No repeaters at this point (please, West Virginia parks!), but at least there is a way to connect, however meekly. Check out the stars at night at Ann Bailey trailhead overlook. Modest CCC museum honoring one of the best federal programs ever. Very lovely cabins for rent!
Pearl s buck home nearby worth a visit (not open every day), as is Beartown state park boardwalk (amazing) and Drood civil war site overlook.
Interestingly, West Virginia state parks - at least the ones we have visited- don’t charge entry fees and don’t seem to close, which is very welcoming.

Pros: lots of deer in camp, dog friendly, a few second walk to the river to play in, lots of crawfish, dishwashing station, large spots, hiking trails.
Cons: GNATS!! We were swatting them away constantly (September 15-17), no water hook up, no sewer hook up, ZERO Cell service. It was a total dead zone. You fill up your water tank before you park, they do have a dump station.
We would go back again because playing all day in the river was wonderful!

Really nice campground nestled in the tree canopy along the Greenbrier River. Sites 7, 9, 10, 12, 14, and 16 have the better views of the river and paths down to the water. The further up you go the less the view but the more wooded. Love this place highly recommend. Take the inner tubes and spend the day floating along the campground... more

The further up you go the less the view but the more wooded. Love this place highly recommend. Take the inner tubes and spend the day floating along the campground; water is so warm in the summer. Beartown park is about 18 miles away and is another neat park to spend an hour walking through; easy walk.
