Arrived on a Sunday evening, about 10 other campers there, everyone was respectfully spaced out. A few rigs looked like "long-timers" and were a little rough. There are trash cans scattered between the sites, some sites have picnic tables. A few sites have large enough trees to put off some shade, if you're lucky to grab one.
All the campers were quiet, I didn't see or hear many of them. However, the park can get a little rowdy with odd traffic throughout the night. It might be best to keep everything locked up. There are some security lights scattered around the sites and park. Highway noise is noticeable but not terrible, also trains are frequent.
Nice walking trail around the lake. And grassy areas with picnic tables, grills, and trash cans- possible for the tent camping?
It felt fairly safe- other than the obvious "suspicious traffic" coming and going from a few of the campers.
Great for any length of stay! 10 min from town, Recommend laundry at Good Times Laundromat- cleanest in town. United grocery store is much better than Walmart.

This is a great facility for an overnight stop. You can't beat water and electricity for $15! It's $5 more per night for Friday and Saturday nights. There were no envelopes at the pay station, so I just slipped cash into the dropbox. There are trains in the middle of the night, so wear earplugs if you don't want to be disturbed. Lots of cars and motorcycles from people not camping there drive thru the park all hours of the night, which made me uneasy because why are they even there? Make sure your vehicle and camper are locked up. The only particular issue I had was from another camper there. From appearance, he has been there a while. He has a large dog that runs the campground unleashed, so taking mine out to potty was dangerous as he made a B line straight for us when we went outside. The dog owner saw this and did not call his dog back or intervene. For the campground itself, I give it 4 stars.

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here. First time was in March and it was freezing cold! Second time was September, hot and breezy. Visiting Pampa for business and this place suits us fine. No reservations taken because there are always spaces available. Water/electric at sites w/ dump station. This is a large park recreation facility run by the city of Pampa. It includes 4 ball fields, small lake, walking trails and rodeo grounds. Very quiet except for trains. Can be windy but of course this is the panhandle after all. Few trees so really no shade. Bathrooms & showers but you need a code from a city employee. Never got the code so can’t report on those. Price: $20 for Fri/Sat, 15 for Sun-Thurs.

A little noise from the trains but not disturbing. The sites aren't perfectly level, slop toward the front of the rv.
One row of the sites is 50 amp service everything else is 30 amp. Use the second dump station and you can watch it over flow at the first one. Very nice rv park we felt safe the whole time.
Pampa is a nice town with pretty friendly people. The rodeo WAS NOT in town while we were there.
A big thanks to the city of Pampa for keeping this park up and running.
We stayed in a 35' travel trailer.

Usually full of horse trailers, cowboys and blairing George Strait all night. Throughout the week it’s very quiet, but be mindful of our crazy winds. Tents typically don’t hold up through a windy night. Showers (paying customers only) and bathrooms are located in a pavilion just north of the campsite. Typically maintained. Sometimes a little dirty and without toilet paper. Great cell service and only two miles from town, five miles from the Walmart.

2 acre lake in the park, so lots of migrating waterfowl overhead and landing at the lake. We were there in October and had the place to ourselves many nights. It is on a railroad mainline about 1 mile away, so you hear lots of trains. That didn't bother us, but be aware.
It's the high prairie of the Taxes Panhandle, so can get really windy. But big, open skies and you can see for miles.
Highly recommended, no frills, low cost place to stay. $15/night weeknights; $20/night Friday and Saturday.
