We stopped here looking for a long term site . The lady in the office was very helpfull. As you can see from the other reviews it has lots to offer. But we did not stay as there was NO SHADE.. Some of the trailers have covers over the top to help keep them cool. For a stay other than in the summer this would be a fablous stop.

Won’t elaborate on all the amenities as other reviews have covered most things. There are obvious long term rvs here but this place is immaculately tended. We wandered around, played Corn Hole, everyone cordial. We arrived after 4 so never met any office staff. Definitely would stay here again.

We stayed for a couple nights on our way south and we wish we could have stayed longer. The park is in great condition, roads are wide, and we had plenty of space between us and our neighbors. Our kids especially appreciated the nice playground, mini golf (clubs and balls are out there, they don’t charge extra like some other parks do), basketball court, and pickle ball area.
They do a free waffle breakfast on weekend mornings, complete with coffee and juice. We talked to one of the managers there and he was really nice and welcoming. Everyone there was helpful.
I can’t speak to the bathrooms, as I didn’t use them, but I did appreciate the dog runs and the fact that they were well stocked with bags to pick up poop. Night time was quiet, no trains or road noise very close.
Everything here was kept clean and working well. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back and visit again.

Back for our 3rd stay.
Again, the park is in overall good condition. They are dry right now, but rain is an issue because they have a HUGE drainage problem and everything gets and stays wet and muddy for an extended period with ground saturation leaving puddles everywhere. They're sticklers about no carpets on the grass, even when the grass is dead and under water, so it can be an issue with providing a clean entrance to your rig. Rumor has it they are having it surveyed in the spring (2021) to see what can be done. Invest in a good surge protector, because every time we have been here they have had a surge and temporary loss of power where EVERYTHING reboots. We are here for my husband's job. If not for that we would not be in this area, which doesn't have much to offer. I would say the majority of the RVers during the week are traveling workers of some kind (a lot of early morning departing construction workers).
It may interest you to know: There is constant surveillance. The Four Oaks police department makes its presence known with frequent drive-bys (some days I've counted 8-10 times). The park has NUMEROUS cameras and make no doubt about the fact that they have some troll watching screens just waiting for you to do something that they can correct. We know this for two reasons: 1) We threw away a rug in one of their two large commercial size dumpsters. Within minutes, my phone rang with someone inquiring about our actions and telling us that we would have to dispose of the rug elsewhere (nevermind that there were all sorts of household goods from others already in those dumpsters. 2) While playing with our dogs in a FAR rear field away from everyone and everything, the manager (Jay, retired Navy who thinks he is an MP) came all the way out on his golf cart just to tell us our dogs who where playing ball had to be on leashes. We were literally the only people and/or animals within sight. He had to have seen us on a monitor.
Something worth noting if you have a dog or two: they are not friendly about dogs. That's not to say their park is not dog-friendly because it is as far as 3 dog parks and numerous grassy areas, dog bags and trash in those parks, and a grassy area at each camp site. But be certain to walk out of your camper with your dog leashed because someone is watching and waiting to tell you about it if you don't. If your dog is skittish, know that you are surrounded by gun fire at all hours on any given day and that the 7 MPH park speed limit does not in any way apply to THEIR staff used golf carts.
My main issue is the lack of common curtesy. There is never a greeting of any kind. He just approaches telling you what his problem with you is at that moment in time. NO pleasantries at all. Makes you feel like you should feel glad they are allowing you to stay here. Perhaps Jay could use a course in hospitality management or maybe even a new career path as he seems miserable and manages this park and 2 others from the same owner.
And lastly, although their buildings all have signs saying masks are required, you won't find their staff wearing any.
Again, the park IS well maintained. Guess you can't have everything.

All facilities were clean and in good order, three nice dog areas, recreation areas which I am sure are busy in good weather and without Covid. As important, they seem to take the virus seriously. There is a contactless check in process and plenty signage showing the managements concern for the health of their customers.

The sites are spacious and it's a big rig friendly, easy to navigate campground.
The wifi was good enough to stream with and was solid at all hours, through the weekend.
Since the wifi was good, I didn't remember to check signal strength but no issues with Verizon or ATT having cell service. Due to COVID most things were shut down as far as laundry etc goes.
So if you have to stop somewhere a few days around the Raleigh area then it'll do but it's not exactly a destination campground.

I was in site 201, a level, graveled pull through. Although this is a large park, with lots of pull throughs, it doesn’t feel like a parking lot. There are three dog parks, a playground, swimming pool, propane and multiple laundry rooms. The park was also very quiet - some road noise, but the park, itself was quiet.

And Friday to Sunday mornings, a complimentary waffle breakfast is offered - and those waffles taste great! The resort is maintained very well.
During our stay we drove to downtown Smithfield and visited the Ava Gardner museum. It was a good way to spend some time in the local area.

“Extreme cancellation policies”
noted 11/4/2022
Beware of Raleigh Oaks RV Resort & Cottages cancellation policies. They seem to have shady pricing policies. We have stayed here in 2021 and the park was nice but seem to have been sold to a corporation with strange rules. Back in June 2022 we made reservations with a $100 deposit for 2 months for Dec & Jan. We called back in Oct to confirm our reservation and rates and found they were planning to bill us over $2600! They told us they didn’t have any monthly sites (at the listed $650 per month) so we would be paying a nightly rate. Which seems odd. We promptly canceled and made other arrangements (well over 30 days before scheduled arrival). Now they won’t refund the $100 deposit because they say any reservation over 30 days is a non refundable deposit. Seems like they are playing both sides. How can they place a monthly refund policy on a nightly rate? As a full time RV traveler with family in Raleigh, we spend a couple months a year in the area. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying with Raleigh Oaks in the future.
“Horrible policies ”
noted 11/14/2020
We planned to stay here for a month, paying 600/month excluding electric. After speaking to them and paying the deposit, they informed us we had to show up the day of arrival by 1pm to sign paperwork (during COVID-19). We told them we could not make it by then because we would be traveling there from thanksgiving with family, but can sign upon arriving same day.
We tried to make it work via electronic signature or signing at a time after arriving. They said no, but could charge us an extra 50 dollars to stay The first day at the daily rate then begin the month the next day, or come in the day before and sign. They said it was corporate policy. Paying extra because we could not arrive by 1 felt illogical and not customer friendly. So we cancelled the whole thing. We are upset because it seemed like a great place, but their policies are too restrictive.
