A man did drive an ATV and filled up jugs *right* at my campsite and I’m not sure why he needed to fill right there but after filling water jugs from the lake, he went on his way. Looks to be decent fishing here too and can’t beat the free cost.

We stayed here on a Saturday night in late December. Perfectly quiet. No one else here. It’s about 40 minutes off the interstate, but for us it was worth the drive.

Nice place; if you’re in a larger rig you’ll want to go to the right as that loop has a few spots. Some bugs. Even though it’s clearly posted that there’s no alcohol, a bunch of kids were drinking close to my site and being loud and obnoxious. Really bummed.

This was such an ideal location, 15 minutes to Manhattan for exploring and stocking up on supplies, but also complete calm (when not over a weekend). Probably 20 spots to choose from of varying level and size, and we had no problem with our 34’ Class A getting around by the lake. As some reviews mentioned there are low hanging branches that did scrape our solar panels but taking it slow and it wasn’t an issue. One negative is it’s a very popular place on the weekends for the locals, but it’s understandable, as it’s a great fishing spot. One local actually knocked on our door to let us know of an impending storm, which was an intense couple of hours of hail, rain, and wind. Our Starlink had to be run on a pier to get around trees but worked fine.

The lake was very pretty and the night was clear. It was a great night to see the stars.
There was quite a bit of litter. I spent about an hour picking up trash and really didn’t get more than an 1/8th mile square picked up.
AT&T cell service was decent. Not fast enough to stream. With one bar, I could use the internet on my iPhone.
The road in was a couple miles of dirt road. It was fine. No great, quiet spots are going to be next to a high traffic highway…. Thank God!

Really close to Manhattan, only 10-15 minutes into town but far enough away that you didn’t get noise or light from town. We are used to gravel roads so it didn’t bother us but be warned that there is a few miles of gravel hills to drive before getting to the site.

Turn left into lake once down dirt road. We would have stayed more than one night easily HOWEVER.. beware..the amount of biting flies in June 2022 was not doable. Or be prepared to lather on the bug spray. Nice lakeside spot with breeze.
Locals fishing. Sheriff drove through . No alcohol on premise sign posted.

on a sunday evening it was populated but by sunset it was only me and maybe 2 other folks there.. Real peaceful and clean, a couple beet cans on the fishing spit which I cleaned up .. decent toilets and fire rings plus a picknick bench was at my space which made it nice to cook and eat ..
