“Hidden Treasure (aka Posey Lake)”

We came here with a group of friends, some of which who have been coming here for decades. It's a hidden treasure with great kayaking, fishing, and hiking onsite. We were in the group campsite area, which featured a dutch oven table (although there were no DO tables at other sites), a large/double BBQ stub (which, tbh, was over due for a clean out), and large group-sized campfire ring. The group site overlooks the lake with a short trail down to the water and around the lake. As you are just off the lake, be prepared for mosquitoes, gnats, and horse flies. There's also a great hike up to an overlook just off the group site that is well worth the effort. The lake is small and easy to paddle across, with crystal-clear water for trying to glimpse fish and other creatures. The bathrooms were meticulous, but there is no trash collection whatsoever in the campground, so be prepared to pack out all your trash (please!) There are bears in the area, reportedly, so all food must be kept in the bear boxes on site. There are many sites that looked easy enough to back a trailer into, but many which looked like they would be extremely difficult to back into; I would advise doing whatever you can to try to preview your site on Reserve America/Google Maps if you can. Sites did look level enough, though. The road up to the area is gravel and can be very washboard at times. Escalante is the closest area, about a 45 minute drive down the road, for firewood, ice, and other necessities, as well as the Interagency Visitor Center for Grand Staircase-Escalante NM, Bryce Canyon, Glen Canyon, and other national parks. If you have the time, look up the Kiva Koffeehouse about fifteen minutes outside of Escalante - it is very much worth the trip down for this unusual coffee house with most stunning coffee house views you may ever see!
Overall, I would typically deduct a star because of the lack of trash collection, although for $11/night for regular sites, you can't really be all that upset about it.

“Peaceful little campground”

This campground sits right on a peaceful little lake. A little difficult to access - up a gravel, somewhat washboarded road about 20 miles from Escalante. Sites are heavily treed and nicely spaced. I wouldn't want to go in there with too big a rig as there wasn't really anywhere to turn around if they were full. Toilets were clean. There is a nice hike up the mountain to an overlook of the lake. I believe there is fishing in the lake. Good location to explore the Dixie Forest. No cell service.
