Site 132 was perfectly level and easy to back into with great sun exposure for the solar. It was right near a pier with beautiful views. We chose a site with no hookups on the Hoffman loop, although there are electric-only sites too. Most of the sites on Greens loop are on the water. They have kayak and canoe rentals, but that were closed due to the pandemic. There’s an awesome pet beach a short bike ride down the peninsula, and lots of other beach access further down. There were lots of different cool birds around.
We stayed 2 weeks and it was very empty and peaceful during the week. The weekends filled up a bit but the atmosphere was respectful. The rangers keep everything well maintained.
We went in April, but I would guess that it gets quite buggy later in the year, so bring your bug spray.

The beach area is only 1/4? away, and a dog friendly beach is here too. Very impressed with this campground. Have walked my bulldog through the loop and everyone is friendly. I have a 28' trailer, and was very easy backing in. Very nice site. There is easy access to beach and boat launch, pier etc. I reserved online and checkin was 5 minutes, very friendly staff. You are Definitely not packed in here. Very secluded sites. There is a central trash/recycle/general site with a dump site. All site are EWS. Good water pressure and no probs electric. Tho I do have a surge protector. Cell is depending, which is why I don't have more photos.

My site had a 90' gravel driveway about 12' wide with approximately 1-2' of extra non-gravel area on each side. My site had a 90' gravel driveway about 12' wide with approximately 1-2' of extra non-gravel area on each side. The pad was also gravel with dirt/sand below the gravel and roughly measured 23'10"x24'5". My tent stakes went in easily, althought some areas they hit something hard and slightly bent. The pad area has a perimeter of semi-buried 3.5" or so wood. In Green's Loop (Loop B), the driveway lengths varied. Some shorter, some longer but the pads seem the same with a movable picnic table and ground level fire pit with cooking grate that can be adjusted. All sites in this loop had a 20 amp regular household duplex outlet and a 30 amp outlet. No 50 amp. There were 4 or 5 drinking water spigots but I only used the one at the top of the loop. There were two camp host sites at the top of the loop and one was occupied. The bathroom was in the middle of the loop and the women's had 2 shower stalls with a curtain and door. I had trouble getting hot water one night. There were 4 toilet areas, one could fit a wheelchair. They were clean and well lit at night. There was a family shower/toilet area and a dish washing area inside the restroom building.
The inner loop sites were not private. There was only about 3' tall wetland grass and some small shrubs. Most of the outter loop sites had privacy with tall reeds and some scrubby pine trees. Some of the outter loop sites had nice water views. My site had water view through some tall reeds. The trees did not provide shade in the sites in the lower half of the loop. The upper sites had tall trees. There is a playground between Green's Loop and Hoffman's Loop, in the trees. Kids were playing in there. There is a nice pier in this loop into Lake Conoy. Hoffman's Loop (Loop A) also has a pier. Pets are allowed in Green's loop but not on the pier.
The beaches are within the park gates (not the campground gates) but about 1.5 to 2 mi. from the campgrounds. There were nettles in the water in July 2020 and no netting. There were no land trails to the beaches. The only land trails I could see were through the trees connecting the loops and office and a bit overgrown. There are historic places to visit but closed due to the pandemic and construction.
The loop advertises up to a 30' trailer or RV. I did see some trailers/5th wheels that could have been that size. I had contact with one ranger who was very helpful and nice. The camp host was visible but I had no contact. A nice loop to walk or bike. I felt very safe in this campground with a close-by camp-host and access code gate to the campground area. The state park entrance also had an access code gate.
There weren't many bugs mid-day. There were mosquitoes one morning but not unusually heavy. I did have a screen house tent for use during the day, however. It was very hot during our visit but there was a breeze most of the time.

A public beach is a paved 2.5-mile bike ride away, and there are a couple hiking trails nearby. The camp roads are paved, also allowing for young cyclists to have fun.
Beware the bugs, though!

Arrival was easy, we were greeted at the gate and given the code and all of the information we needed. The site was a deep narrow back in, but once in that was nice as it was very private. Our rig is only 15' and we had the perfect amount of room.
The site was level, gravel, good amount of shade, and very private. We could see our neighbors, but a good deal of trees between us and them. The fact that the site was so deep, back from the loop road made it nice for our dog.
The fire ring could use some repair. The water across the street was hard to access. The bath house was great, very nice and very clean. Wish the sink area would have been open, but that could be due to COVID.
Our favorite part was being able to walk our kayak to the put in, at a floating dock. We enjoyed a gorgeous, full moon, evening kayak.
There is also a boat ramp in the park, less then a mile or 2 from the Hoffman loop, with both a boat ramp and a soft put in.
Verizon coverage, even with our weboost, was very poor. But when we drove around in the area we were able to get a better signal.

Great dog beach! Lots of flying bugs if warm. Large long level gravel sites. Waterfront sites do not have full hookup. Walmart, McDonald’s, Home Depot at least 30 minutes away. Dollar General less than 10 minutes away. Arrive early. No street lights. Need code to enter gate. Middle of nowhere. Narrow road to park. Wide interior roads. ... more

We stayed in the Green’s Point Loop, site #104. Site was very level, with a nice long driveway. Right on the water, with beautiful views. Surrounded by tall marsh grass and a few pine trees, so it felt very private. Close proximity to the bathhouse. Seems like most other sites on the outside of the loop were similar (grassy setting backing to water or trees), while the sites inside of the loop were in an open, marshy field. All sites included a picnic table and fire ring with grill grate. Campground in general was very well-maintained, and saw the hosts mowing different grassy areas several times throughout our stay. Only negative was the amount of pollen that coated every surface within minutes (although I know this is a seasonal concern pretty much everywhere). We had to wipe down every single item multiple times.
Bath house was very clean and well-maintained. Looks like host cleaned it several times a day. Only two shower stalls, but they were nice and roomy with fairly hot water. There was also a dishwashing nook in the bath house with nice double-sink, which is always a bonus. This park offers tons of activities and amenities, such as a huge fishing pier, camp store, canoe/kayak rental, lighthouse, historical sites, swimming beach, etc. Most of those were still closed for the season, which was fine. Still beautiful to look at, and we didn’t have to fight the summer crowds. The park used to be a prison for Confederate soldiers, so lots of cool exhibits and memorials for history buffs. Again, the setting was very beautiful, but the bugs were killer. Luckily, there was a nice strong breeze blowing off the water during the vast majority of our stay. However, the second it stopped, the bugs descended on us. Mosquitoes, gnats, biting flies, you name it. If they were this bad in April, I can only imagine how awful they would be in the middle of summer.
Overall, we really enjoyed this park, and the being on the water was a nice change of scenery from our normal mountainy/wooded campsites. I would highly recommend to boating and fishing enthusiasts and/or history buffs. However, the bugs alone would keep me from returning, at least during peak season.

We camped in Sept 2016. Like the other reviewers we stayed in Greens Point Loop in site 88. Our site was on the outside of the loop. The marsh grass surrounded us providing visual privacy, but it also obstructed our views of the water. It did not help with noise from sites on each side. The marsh grass surrounded us providing visual privacy, but it also obstructed our views of the water. It did not help with noise from sites on each side. We did have some water view from inside our trailer when we were up higher off the ground.
The sites in the outside of the loop were much nicer than the center of the loop. The center sites were small and surrounded by standing water. They didn't have any privacy or shade. I would try another loop before camping in the center sites of this loop. These site were terrible. There was a posting that they treat standing water for mosquitos.
The campground was very buggy. Huge horse flies attacked our car, but didn't bite us. The mosquitos and small biting flies were plentiful. Fortunately we had a breeze most of the time which helped keep the bugs from biting as much.
We liked the dog beach. Also, learning about the area history was nice. Fishing and boating are also popular activities here.

We camped at Point Lookout State Park mid-April as part of a WBCCI Airstream Rally. We chose the Greens Point Loop due to the views, things to do, and because the sites were closer together than in the Tulip Loop. We couldn't have been more pleased with Site 100. The site was long enough for our 32 foot Excella and our TV. The patio area, covered in crushed gravel, was generous with a large picnic table and views of the fishing and boating piers. Our bedroom window looked right out over the water where a beautiful sunrise greeted us each morning.
The Greens Point Loop only provides Electric hookups but there is a bathroom/shower house and water spigots place around the loop. The outside sites have more privacy than the inside sites. Pets are allowed but must remain leashed. NOTE: This area is marshy in spots so is probably very buggy during the summer months.
Our arrival was painless. The main office was open and it took just a few moments to check in.
As this is a very popular State Park, check-in may be slower during the summer months. There is also another Camp Registration building once you make the turn into the camping area that sells firewood and ice. The camping area is gated and you are given a code upon registration.
Our Verizon Cell service upgraded to 3-4 bars LTE coverage when we used our WeBoost.
The nearest full-service grocery store is in Lexington Park - about 20 miles away. There are many deli/liquor stores and a True Value hardware store not too far away however.

Tucked onto the little point of land where the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac river meet, PLSP served at a prison for Confederate soldiers after the Battle of Gettysburg, housing up to 20,000 men. Tucked onto the little point of land where the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac river meet, PLSP served at a prison for Confederate soldiers after the Battle of Gettysburg, housing up to 20,000 men. Lots more fascinating history from before (and after) that time. Great little museum, lighthouse, etc. And while the history of the place is awesome, the Greens Point loop is not to be missed by campers…from tents on up to a 30' travel trailer (as we had). The sandy sites are pretty level and some (like site 93 and others on that side) are long and nestled in tall rushes creating lovely privacy. At one point a massive great blue heron strolled right through the rushes by our site maybe 10 feet from us. Osprey (and osprey nests built on platforms in the water) are everywhere and are very cool to watch. Rent a canoe from the on-site museum to explore the shallow water and watch bald eagles flying above. Swim in the Chesapeake at the nearby beach (they even have an excellent dog beach!). Throw a line in and catch your dinner. Or just enjoy the sunset from your campsite with a cocktail in hand.
There's also a full-hookup loop but you definitely give up the amazing views for it. The electric-only Green's Point loop is the place to be. Beautiful.
It would be tight for bigger than 30' (in my opinion) and only a handful of sites will work for that size (they happen to be the best ones though). Bathrooms were clean and updated.
