Overview of Point Barr Campground
Camping at the AHRA now requires a reservation. A vehicle pass is required for any motor vehicle brought into the campground and is charged in addition to camping fees.
Point Barr is mainly accessible from the west on Fremont County Road 45. This is a dirt road with narrow, single-lane stretches. The road makes a tight turn under a railroad trestle (12' 3" high x 10' 6" wide). Trailering is technical but is possible up to a 15' trailer, depending on trailering skill. This loop is not accessible in a motorhome.

“Remote but close to HWY”

Camped here labor day weekend. Although it was hot that weekend, we still had a breeze and access to the river.
PROS:
- access to the river nearby.
- breezy during the day (if you can have shade, comfortable).
CONS:
- Driving with a 13' trailer was scary - very narrow road with a sharp turn after passing under a bridge. I wouldn't do it again and certainly not with a larger trailer. ALTHOUGH I did see people with a bigger rig who made it (much braver than me or they know the area well).
- Close to HWY 50 - road noise, headlights from cars driving the hwy
- traffic during the day from people accessing the area for the river and ETV'ing.
I am glad I was able to spend a weekend at this campground, however I don't think I would go again (difficult & scary to drive with trailer plus the hwy proximity).
Absolutely no cell phone reception (AT&T).
