Came here on our way to the Wallowas from Montana. This camp is an easy pull off from the road nears some small towns with services. Came here on our way to the Wallowas from Montana. This camp is an easy pull off from the road nears some small towns with services. Pulled into one of three pull thru sites and stopped for the night. Jim, the host came to greet us. Very helpful and friendly. The Clearwater River is gorgeous! Solar access is good, but not necessary as you get full (yes-full!) hookups in each site. There are a few tent camps with no hookups. We have four bars with Verizon. No over the air channels here but who cares! This is a fantastic deal and pretty with great services. Only issue is low to moderate road noise. Sound of the water rushing helps to mask it! Wish we had more of these kinds of camps around!

Great host. Full hook ups. 30 amp only. Fills on weekends, plenty of spaces during week. Convenient to town. Some road noise- not bad with AC.

Easy access to this campground - just off US 12, a couple miles west of Orofino. Campground was in good repair, clean (especially the restrooms), and had a very friendly host. Easy access to this campground - just off US 12, a couple miles west of Orofino. Campground was in good repair, clean (especially the restrooms), and had a very friendly host. Site has a boat launch and a nice beach the Clearwater River, though the water is cold. We really appreciated the electric hookup so we could run the A/C as the highs were around 100.
But the location (again, adjacent to US 12) resulted in highway noise. It wasn't too bad during the day as the highway just blends into the normal daytime noise. The road traffic dies down in the evening, so not too bad then. But in the morning, the truck traffic picks up around 6:30-7:00 and was a bit annoying, especially when you like to keep the windows open for the fresh air. On our second morning, we opted to leave the windows closed and keep the A/C on to drown out the highway.
The $18 fee is quite reasonable and includes water, electric, and sewer. The Old Geezer pass reduces the cost to $9/night.

Great price, huge sites. Hosts lovely. Great fishing. Kayaked at Dworshak dam 3 times at different boat launches. Hiked all around the dam. Stopped at North Fork forest service station to pick up numerous pamphlets on hiking trails. Museum in Orofino was closed even though online it said it was open. Hiked all around the dam. Stopped at North Fork forest service station to pick up numerous pamphlets on hiking trails. Museum in Orofino was closed even though online it said it was open.
Some noise from the highway but ended near dark.
Information boards about the history located by the small beach where they allow pets off leash.
National fishery closed due to covid.
Clearwater county only 49 cases of covid, few people wearing masks.
Grocery stores expensive and limited.
Farmers market on Tuesday had great and reasonable produce.

We had the river to sing us to sleep. Small beach, fishing access but fishing is only available Thur- Sun due to it being on the Reservation. Access to a small boat ramp. Very nice facilities, clean and not stinky.

This is a pretty small campground right next to the 12. There is some highway noise but it was pretty minimal after dark. The hosts are very nice and keep the place clean. All sites include water and electricity hook ups. We even had really good Verizon service. Overall it was a really great value.

We've had a wonderful stay. This is not drycamping! There are 14 sites all with full hookups. Only 30 amp service. We have a national senior pass making the nightly fee $9 instead of $18. We've had a wonderful stay. This is not drycamping! There are 14 sites all with full hookups. Only 30 amp service. We have a national senior pass making the nightly fee $9 instead of $18. Camp hosts Jim and Debra take immaculate care of this BLM property and are so welcoming. We are staying on site #14 about 5 yards from the river. The campground sits right of the HWY 12 on the Lewis and Clark trail. The hwy is somewhat noisy but if you can find a site such as ours right on the river, the noise is not bad and the evening quiet down. This area is so rich with history and the campground is a great base camp. Weekends can be full, so it is best to get here as early in the day as possible and during the week days.

This is a wonderful campground. Full hook ups and beautifully maintained facilities right on the river. I would camp here again and again! I only write this review because we paid $18 per night, not $9 like the two other reviews. There are 20 something campsites and only 3 are ‘tent-only’, but the RV full-hookup sites are $18 per night.

I would probably drop the noise stars down due more road noise in the morning and a young family with screaming kids that appeared to have been staying longer then the 14 days.
