This was our final camping excursion of the year, and it was stunning. Fall in the Midwest is a treat. The trees were gorgeous, the campground was quiet and the trails were well-maintained. We saw the park ranger who was informative and helpful. When we were there, the camphosts were not around but the park was filled with quiet folks enjoying the season.
We had a site with electric for $28. Dumpstation right outside the campground was easy to use. Firewood was available for cash within the campsite.

Quiet, well maintained sites. Heavily wooded area with decent, but not great bathroom facilities.
I tent camp, but there were plenty of RVs (I use the term generically).
This state park has plenty of trails to explore and as the name would suggest, a lake to enjoy.
Very happy with my stay in early June, 2022.

The mosquitos were SWARMING. How people were able to stay outside I don't know. But this is a great little campground - a bit of Ice Age wilderness in the middle of the suburbs. You're in the deep forest yet across the street from the park headquarters is a car dealership and BP station. There are quite a few nice, large, level appearing, nicely packed gravel sites but mine wasn't one of them. Site 24 was narrow, poorly laid out, 5" upslope (a lot for a 25' Sprinter), and a bit muddy. Apparently, the regulars know this as it was one of the only sites available. The sites closest to the entrance (1-4 & 29-32) were more open with nice grassy areas. The remaining sites were pretty well covered by dense forest. The sites on the inside of the loop are electric,
while outside sites are all dry. There were several water stations where you can fill jugs and there was a threaded freshwater tower at the dump station loop. There are a number of trails including a segment of the Ice Age Trail, a tower on Powder Hill, and a large day-use area for picnicking, and beach/lake access. The price of $23 is the non-electric rate, but there was a $7.75 reservation fee on top of that AND you need to have a State Park Pass for the vehicle. T-Mobile was essentially useless (as it seems to be in much of SE rural WI) but AT&T down & up came in @ 35 Mbps.
