We are staying on a Monday and Tuesday, but is a very quiet and peaceful campground. Great for my not-yet-walking daughter as the campsites are nice and grassy. While there is shade, I wish there was a little more. Additionally, more trees would provide more privacy. You can see all of your neighbors. Luckily, they are all quiet and respectful. With that said, it is 90 degrees but in the shade it feels fine and there is a nice breeze coming off the lake. From our site there is a nice view of the lake and a trail that you can walk down to the water’s edge easily. The bathrooms definitely leave you feeling less than hygienic, but there is running water and and stocked hand soap so I really can’t complain. Love that the rec area has so much to offer: swimming, hiking, a park, fishing supplies that can be borrowed and much more. GPS and signs made it very easy to find and is only 20 mins from Lincoln and a short drive off of interstate 80 but feels worlds away from life on the highway.

Nice for a quick night passing through but wouldn't stay here otherwise. The bathroom was very run down and I had to psych myself up to use the shower that had mildew growing on the curtains, poor lighting, and bugs everywhere. I never saw a single worker while I was there. And very little of the campground was actually mowed. It was a haven for ticks, which we found 2 on us. The boys would have loved to play football in the fields had they been moved. Basically, it could be a much better place with a little upkeep. Disappointed...

Beautifully, well kept campground along the north side of Pawnee Lake. The lower two loop of sites are first-come-first-serve. 30 & 50 Amp service with non-electrical sites, also. The upper loop are reserve-able. A quiet area to spend the weekend. Can get noisy during holidays, especially during July 4, with fireworks, etc. I agree with another reviewer that the restrooms need updating. They are getting old and gross and it seems there were plans (at one time) to replace them, but the money seems to be more likely allocated to bigger parks like Mahoney and Platte River where the majority of the big city population congregates. They really should put at least two new shower houses in for the area the campground is spread over. Nebraska park overnight stay prices are getting overly outrageous for a stay. My wife and I prefer to stay at US Army Corps of Engineers parks as the rates are much cheaper. Nebraska parks are now $20 per night and then they hit you with a park permit of Annual resident $31, non-resident $46, with Duplicate of $16 & $23.50 and a Daily permit of $6/day & $8/day respectively, are ridiculous. Fishing and water sports are available at the lake which isn't very far away. The last two years the lake was closed to a Toxic Algae Alert, which means you don't want your dog drinking the water and people should not be playing in the lake or ingesting the water, either. Guess, I wouldn't be eating the fish, as well.

Stayed over the 4th of July and the place was a zoo for the holiday. Loud with fireworks. But other than the 4th, it was a fairly quiet campsite.
Located with easy access to Lincoln and on a lake with some hiking available.
So unremarkable I seem to have forgotten to take any pics. What can I say, this is Nebraska. :)
